Bring wedding rings to Mexico for wedding?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I am getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum in April 2012.

I am wondering what peoples thoughts are on bringing the really wedding rings to the resort?

Is it safe to travel with these expensive items? What about wearing the rings while on vacation?
I would definitely not want to risk having the rings stolen.

Thanks!

Desiree

I am getting married in May in Mexico and was thinking the same thing! I was thinking of maybe wearing my wedding ring on my right hand, until we get married.

I think it is safe to bring the rings-most of my friends who are attending are married and they will all be wearing their engagement and wedding rings. I am just really really nervous about keeping the rings in the room while we aren't there.

Do you know if there are safes in each room at your resort?  I think they're pretty common now...super easy...you just program your own code into it the first time you use it.  I certainly want our rings as part of the ceremony, but when we're out swimming or doing excursions they'll be kept in the safe.  Friends of ours got married in Mexico last January...his ring wasn't stolen, it slipped off into the ocean the first time he went swimming after the wedding, never to be found again!!

I am very happy to be getting married in Mexico. I am just curious as to the other brides' thoughts not in terms of them being stolen not only in Mexico but on the trip down there. I am wondering if my fiance and I should just wear the rings on our fingers for the plane ride, instead of keeping them in the ring box in our carry on. Also in case they get lost, or if they wear them in the ocean or keep them in the safe. My mind would be more at ease if I knew there was a programmable safe or we could just wear them the whole trip even before we get married.
