It's official! We are having our wedding in April 2013!!!

I am so happy...we finally decided that we are going to have our wedding sooner, rather than later. We were going to have our wedding April 2014...this was not our first choice but there was a lot happening and we had to work around certain things so we thought it best to stick to a later date.

 

Since we are both really eager to get on with our lives as a married couple, and after much debate, we finally put our foot down and decided to just DO IT!

 

I am so excited and happy and I cannot wait to share our happy day together in front of our friends and family!

So overjoyed and blessed!

 

Let the planning begin and get ready April 23rd, 2013, coz here we come!!!

Thanks Ladies!!! Yes...the date wasn't a hard choice....but the place was really an overwhelming process for us...but I think we know what we want now :-D

Yay! Good for you guys! I know picking a date sounds like an easy thing to do for non-wedding planners but as an engaged couple you really have to put quite a bit of thought into it!

Congratulations!!! I am getting married April 14, 2013  at Sandals Negril and our guest traveling with families are staying at Beaches Sandy Bay! My Fi and I are very excited but a little nervous as we have never been to Sandals. How is your planning coming along?

It has it's ups and downs... mostly the communication barrier. But I think everything will work out just fine in the end. We have a great travel agent on our side so that helps. How about for you?

You so right about the ups and downs. We are having problems with our wedding planner. As the resort provided  a wedding planner  we decided to booked everything ourselves and now I am wishing for a travel agent. However things are coming along :-)

I helped design out monogram,  we picked our colours/ theme etc.. our Save the Dates are being shipped and the wedding website is almost finished...so it is starting to coming together. We just did not realize how much goes into a wedding and we both thought a desitnation wedding would be a lot simpler. Now I understand why the Dad went crazy in Father of the Bride. But we are still just under a year away so lots of time. Have you gotten far with your plans? Made any major decisions?

I know... the wedding coordinator from the resort hasn;t been the best person to work with so far. She doesn't budge and sometimes she goes around in circles when she answers me. But my travel agent has done such a great job of taking care of things when I don't like how it's going. She doesn't want the bride to stress which is nice. Definitely the best decision I have made so far in the destination weddng planning.

 

We've picked colours for our theme and we've decided we are going to make our invitations... we shall see how that goes - found a great paper company here in Ontario. Still have to get out Save the Dates from my friend who designed them for us. Wedding website is up and running - I had fun with that. The major decisions are all done I think. We've picked and put deposits down on our resort, decided which travel agent we want, what decor we are going with and who we will invite. Oh I have my dress already picked out and my shoes. I wanted to get as much of the big expenses out of the way because we bought a house and that is coming up. So the plannign is on hold for now since my focus is on that. Really if you think about it... it's not as much work as an at home wedding. It pretty much cuts our work and cost, in half - cost maybe more! Try not to stress too much. We've got lots of time! Just take is one step at a time....
