what is everyone's wedding day timing look like? how much time for hair/makup? and when do you have the photographer showing up/leaving?

i think we'll go ahead with juan navarro but wondering how many hours i think i'll him him for. def want getting ready photos, ceremony, and some at the reception, but not sure we need him for the whole reception. so many others will be taking pictures throughout the night.

thanks again so all of you ladies who provide info - this is such a helpful forum!

@upstatekj - I plan to discuss with Juan when it gets closer, but I'm thinking 3-9pm or 3:30pm - 9:30pm. We signed our contract for a six hour session. Our ceremony is at 5pm, followed by the cocktail hour and then the reception. Like you, I would like photos getting ready/before the ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour and some reception, but I don't think we'll need him for the entire reception.

I'm not too concerned with hair & make-up timing yet, but I'm guessing maybe around noon or 1pm?

@@HNeal - I know you are using Lucidum Photography - how much is your package?

It was a splurge. I have him from 3pm-10pm and he was $3,000. He is amazing though! I know from experience that if photos are important to you to go with what you want even if it costs more. My best friend went with a more budget friendly photographer and it was a disaster!

FYI...I talked to him about the resort photographer being there and he suggested to not have them even come to the ceremony. He is worried they would be in the way and he doesn't want to have to worry about another person in his frame. Which makes sense.

I have seen Juan Navarros work too though and it is really good.

I'm doing my own hair and make up but I am going to get my nails done in the morning.

I want to spend the bulk of the day enjoying my girls and relaxing.

Hi Ladies,

@@JenniferH114, the guitar sounds nice! We are having a saxaphonist for the cermony. I think the live music will be a nice touch.

@@upstatekj, Our ceremony starts 5:30 and everything will wrap up around 11:00. We hired photographer Sascha Gluck for the whole time. I didn't schedule my hair/make up yet, I plan on doing that soon.

@@JessT, congrats on your wedding!!!  I'm sure it was beautiful!  I had one question or maybe someone else may know.  For the reception dinner, do guests get to pick from two entrees or do you have to pick one for everybody??

@@Crystal17 - I have heard/read multiple times that if you get them the final counts ahead of time, they will let you choose two entrée options. I am hoping this is still the case because I reviewed the menu and I'm going to need to be able to give options to the guests. We definitely have some picky eaters coming. I am also hoping I can sort of build my own entrées based on what they have - just mix up the sides, for example. I'd have no problem getting them a head count ahead of time, but I'm really hoping there is some flexibility. I would imagine if you are having more guests, they might be willing to accommodate more, too. I haven't asked Jessica about it yet because our wedding is so far out that there's really no need to right now, but eventually I will. Also, we are heading to the resort in November to check it out and meet with Jessica, so I'm sure I'll have a list of questions to address then. :)

@@JenniferH114 I was thinking the same thing about hopefully picking/mixing entrees. Some people don't eat seafood so I'd rather have a seafood and a chicken or steak option.

So jealous you are going in Nov, have a blast! We met Gloria when we went and she was very helpful! Your wedding is a little after ours so we'll probably miss you. We are heading home May 8th.

I have two options for my guests. Initially Jessica said "no" but I pushed the issue and she said "yes"! The only thing is that you have to provide a seating chart with assigned seats and what each guest is eating one month in advance.

@@Crystal17,

For reception, I only had one entree for everyone ( The salmon). I think they maybe able to offer 2 entrees but you have to let Jessica know who is eating what and seat chart 1 month in advance.

On the other hand, I let my guests to pick from 2 entrees for my welcome dinner at Agave.

Then I picked 3 different appetizers and ask them to serve in 2 sets ( we sat a long table) so everyone could try everything.

Agave even made a menu for me at welcome dinner! that was very sweet of them.

oh and I made my own menu at reception though. Overall, I think one entree at reception was acutally better for me since there are so many other things to worry about!

Hope this helps!

My wedding was at 5:00 PM at the Pier. I started my day with a nice breakfast, went to swim a little and took shower then went to spa for hair and makeup at 12:00 PM. Elias was my hair stylist and he did a great job! It was scheduled for 1 hour and half but he finished it in 1 hour.

Then my photographer ( Naal Photographer) showed up early too ! you can certainly make a schedule and send it to your photographer to see what's their opinion since everyone's schedule is different.

They usually leave after you guys cut the cake though.

Depend on your wedding package, Jessica would send you menu options ( IE. gold / silver menu 1 and 2)

You CAN mix and match from menu 1 and menu 2. And if you are gold, you can pick from silver menu at no extra charge.
