Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I am getting legally married at the Excellence on May 19, 2014. My HTB and I got engaged 3 weeks ago so this has been a fast process! We do not want a long engagement...but I am feeling really overwhelmed. I am hoping we made the right choice, but this does look like an absolutely gorgeous resort.

Has anyone done the legal ceremony here? Gloria said all we need to do is bring our passports, legal form, FMT tourist card, and do the blood test, but on other websites it says you need your birth certificate (and have it translated)? I am just hoping that we aren't missing anything.

Also, My finance and I want to get married at the beach gazebo but are a little concerned about the wind. Have any of you found it super windy??

Lastly, does the gold package include centerpieces? if not are they available for the hotel to add at an extra cost? or will I need to bring my own?

Any info on these items would be so appreciated. I am so happy to have found this thread. Super helpful!!

Hello Ladies!  I just signed on.  I am getting married at ERC on August 22, 2014!  I need some advise about my day.  I have been to ERC and absolutely love it.  From the day I got engaged I have pictured having a sunset wedding on their beach.  Unfortunately the sunset time slot is already booked and I have my ceremony scheduled for 1pm.  This changes my entire vision as far as location, photos, etc.  I wanted to have my reception at the Lobster House which is not available at that time.  Have any of you brides had the afternoon ceremony?  Or are any of you planning on it?  I am not sure where to have our reception that will not be in the blazing sun.  I did not want to use the foyer.  Any thoughts?

Hi ladies! This is my second time trying to post so hopefully it goes through. I am getting married on 8/22/14! I was hoping to get some advice on ceremony times. I wanted to have a 5pm but that is unavailable on my day. The only time is 1pm. I am really nervous that it is going to be too hot and wondering if I should change the date. We have already booked and sent out information to our guests about our 8/22 ceremony so it will mean a little work to change the date. Are any of you brides getting married in the afternoon?

Hi there! I got married at 5pm. Some of the best pictures we got were at sunset during/after the reception. We played in the ocean that day until about noon for me/1pm for other people. Then we got ready and enjoyed the reception, then closed out the 'disco'. It was really hot mid-day and then it clouded over and the breeze picked up for the ceremony. We didn't need sunglasses and it was not too hot. Our ceremony was 7/12. I still think it would have been fine at 1pm, but I'm glad I had the 5pm slot. You are still so far in advance, I would think you'd be able to change it without too much disruption. I guess the weather is unpredictable and you never know what you'll get. You'll have so much on your mind leading up to the wedding, pick the option that that will ease your mind the most. Good Luck! (A few of our sunset pics below).

According to Gloria the cocktails are $18/person. My Wedding is November 14th 2014.  I'm having a hard time figuring out how long everything takes. The cocktail hour is obviously an hour but how long is the ceremony and the reception? Does anyone know the cost to extend the reception?

Gloria is nice but definitely hard to communicate with.

Thank you!

TrishaJ34- You look amazing!  Your sunset photos are amazing!  We decided on keeping our wedding date and having the 1pm ceremony.  You are correct about the wedding being unpredictable so I am just gonna go with it.

TealMarie- You must be beside yourself with excitement!  How far in advance did you choose your ceremony and reception location?  Gloria told me that I did not need to decide until a month before the date but I am worried that the options would become more limited if they get picked by another bride before me.
