Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Is anyone willing to share what you included in the "welcome letter/itinerary" ? I'm thinking something very simple such as timeline of wedding events along with some general information about the resort. I would like to include info about non-resort activity options.

@@roamfree check out my wedding website. I have an activities section that has some off-resort options explained. www.kimandryanwed.com

I'm tried to attach the welcome info packet that I included. But it won't let me because its an adobe illustrator file. I'll try again later but here's a picture of it attached to my welcome bag. I included: Name tag, Pg1) Welcome Letter Pg2) Itinerary Pg3) Wedding Party Pg4) Resort Map (but my version had the schedule of events on it)

@@kjb0528 Welcome back!! Wow, it's so great to see some of your pictures and get your feedback. You make a gorgeous bride and I love that unique flower you chose (and good to know about the inability to pay just the difference!)

Really good to know that the cocktail setup at las olas was a bit of a bust. Like you, I would expect a full bar setup and passed or presented apps. Was it just empty? Good tip about the Mexican trio. I might ask to have them start late as well. I'm curious, did you go with "Caribbean" or "romantic" for the trio?

I have so many questions! I'll wait to see your full review. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Everyone,

We are getting married at ERC in November 2017. Reading through all of your posts have been so helpful already!! Our reception is scheduled to be at Las Olas - I really liked the idea of being on Or close to the beach. Now I'm a little worried after reading it can be a bit dark without extra lighting. I contacted my wedding coordinator at ESC for pricing on extra lighting. She referred me to an outside vendor they use, Alquimia Decor, who is quoting me about $400-$1000 for 2-4 strands of lights and/or two lanterns. This pricing seems a little bit outrageous to me. Did anyone else have similar issues? I'm wondering if I could bring some strands of lights on my own.

Thanks!!

We had our reception at las olas and brought our own lights down. It was $50 for them to hang the lights! Hope that helps!!

Very helpful, thanks! I think that is what we will end up doing. Do you happen to remember how many strands of lights you needed?

We got the ones from IKEA and just wrapped them around the poles at each corner. We had lanterns with lights in them that we hung also, and we ended up turning on the lights that are in las olas in each corner. So I would bring a decent amount.

@@CaitlinG what is your date? We are 11-11, also planning on Las Olas for our reception, with similar questions to you :)

We are Nov 3rd, so close to you! Who is your wedding coordinator? We have been working with Ariana. We decided the pricing for the third party decorating company the resort uses was not in our budget. I did confirm with Ariana that we can bring our own lights and they will hang them up for $50. She recommended the 50ft strands. I was able to find them on Amazon for under $50 a strand - just worrried about transporting them. I'm just going to buy a few of those and hope for the best!
