Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

We had the gold package, but we were able to use our hour of photography for our welcome dinner. It sounds like you can't do that now.

We were not impressed with the hotel's photographers/photos at all. I'm so glad I went with my gut and hired an outside photographer early on. Juan and Arturo are incredible. I wrote some previous posts on them and a review. We have zero regrets about hiring them (and it wasn't even about the cost).

@@kathryn78 I don't have my paper in front of me we decided on but based on what we were going to select it was about 1K cheaper. Also take a look at how much you get back meaning the photos. Juan gives much more. We didn't get a videographer but what we wanted was exactly what he offered. Just compare it apple to apples. See what he quotes you.

Also he said he always uses an assistant so that's his second photographer.

The vendor fee is 500. He took 250 off for a special he was running. We ordered a book with the photos that the ladies here recommended. It will be worth it since I most likely will be lazy to make my own and I've heard how amazing they are

Yeah I was very gung-ho on using Beach wedding studio until I compared prices.

And 72. That's amazing turnout. We have 50 and I thought that was a lot! I hear ya about not wanting to buy really expensive things. It adds up FAST

Does anyone have an examples of the quality of pictures taken by the inhouse photographer?  I've received correspondence from Juan and know the additional costs but would like to see some of the work also by the photographers from the hotel.

@@lynne1609 These are not wedding photos but we just did a 30 min portrait session with BWS if you want to see our photos: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B04G6XBubGzPGjL (I posted these before so you may have already seen them).

Finding a photographer is the one thing that is stressing me out a lot right now. I find myself pouring over portfolios and then after awhile it all just blends together and I can't tell anymore. I did find this article on bridebox helpful though. It lists the top 20 photographers in cancun with a few example pictures: http://www.bridebox.com/blog/top-20-wedding-photographers-cancun/

[in case the link is removed from this thread, just google "BrideBox top 20 cancun wedding photographers"]

The pictures from beach wedding studio look beautiful.. I was also looking at Melissa Mercado, not sure if you ladies heard of her? When I emailed her a couple months ago she quoted me at 3,000 but she gives you all the photos she takes, which is nice because you end up with a lot. I'm stuck between her, and Juan.

Finally bought a dress.....now on to invitations. I emailed our WC of the week (Thamara) and she told me that there are a few globe lights at the Las Olas that are there permanently and if we were to bring some LED candles or votives, we would be fine without the extra lighting fee. Has anyone else done this? I am trying to get a second entree option for our reception dinner, which I thought they had okayed before, but getting a little push back on it currently.
