Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Hi all! I just got engaged at ERC on Nov 20th, 2015 and now I'm in the process of booking my wedding there for Jan 2017! We are planning on approx 40 people. Question: I'm currently trying to decide between the 3:00 pm and the 5:00 pm time slot for the ceremony. Any advice? I know the sunsets around 6pm in Jan so I was worried about pictures, but the 3pm time slot just seems too early. [sorry if this was answered previously. Its so easy to go down a rabbit hole reading through the forums and getting distracted so I figured I would just ask. ]

I was also just there 2 weeks ago so if anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to help!

Congrats!!! Super exciting. I'm not an ERC bride but I'm a January 2015 Mayan bride. The sunset for us (Jan 21) was at 530pm and it just gets dark there is no long sunset! If you want time for pics after your ceremony I'd suggest the 3pm time slot. 330pm would have been safe too but if you don't have that option. We had 45 people. 3-330 ceremony and toast. 330-4 was family and group photos and 4-5 was bride/groom photos. Just depends what you want but you most likely will loose light before 6pm. We certainly did!!! Good luck.

Thanks @@victoriasalv !  We are putting a deposit down for a block of rooms for the week of Jan 9, 2017.  We are currently getting a quote of $475 per night for the standard junior suite pool view. Did anyone have experience with rates dropping much or going up when booking over a year out. Just wondering how many rooms we should reserve.

@kjb0528 We booked ours a year out too and unfortunately our rates haven't dropped. We are staying beach view suite, club side and paying less than that. I would talk to different travel agents. I have an amazing one who saved us a ton, if you are interested.

Hmmm.. that does seem a little high. Are they regular rooms or club? We went through a travel agent and her company (funjet) books the rooms so we didn't have to pay to reserve the rooms in advance. We booked in March (personally) and I have not noticed an increase or decrease unfortunately. I'm not sure how that works! The only thing I have noticed is a lot of the jr suite regular rooms are sold out (at least via her supplier so some people had to upgrade).

@@victoriasalv  They are regular rooms but maybe its just because its January which is the high season.

@@JaimeCKL  I'm using Lindsey too!!  I really like her a lot and she had rave reviews.  She is so responsive, it makes it so much easier to get things done and make decisions!
