Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

I'm giving my guests 2 dinner entree options: the beef and scallops (or just beef if there is shellfish allergy) and the chicken. Def more work but I have some picky eaters. I'm planning on having shots of tequila when guests first enter the reception, with their name and table number (take a shot and take your seat). At each table setting I'm having limes with a place card and will somehow incorporate their entree choice.

I've recently discovered the Vitamin String Quartet so I am using a few of their songs before the ceremony when guests are arriving (will have around 15 mins of that). My sister is walking down to The Piano Guys "A Thousand Years" and I think I am walking down to Sigur Ros' Hoppipolla. Haven't decided on what we are walking out to.

I'm wondering if anyone is paying extra for ceremony flowers and if so, I'm assuming you will be using those for reception centerpieces as well?

I'm still not sure if I want round tables or long ones. I think we'll have around 45 guests - just not sure which set up makes the most sense in the Lobster House.

Thanks @@HNeal for the input!  I also heard about a app called wedding DJ and you can have all your songs on their and labeled so easy for another person to just play them for you.  I haven't looked into it too much, but thinking about trying it out.

@upstatekj- I wasn't planning on paying extra for ceremony flowers.  I ended up using the ceremony flowers in the package towards the table centerpieces.  Since I didn't want just one big centerpiece, we ended up doing 4 smaller ones spread out on 2 long tables.  My original plan was one long table, but unfortunately Los Olas couldn't fit one table for our group of 32.

I was curious what song you used for the signing?

I used the instrumental version of "To make you feel my love". I used instrumental versions of every song during the ceremony except for when we walked out after the ceremony. Which was to "Sweet Pea".

Just a quick note;  I just got married at the Excellence Riviera Cancun Resort on March 26, 2015.  We had the on resort photography studio, Beach Wedding Studio do the photography for our big day.  I honestly cannot say enough about our pictures.  They were beautiful!  We had our photographer, Juan Carlos, for 4 hours.  I arranged for him to come to our bridal suite one hour before the ceremony and take pictures of the bridal party getting ready.  He was so respectful of the women getting dressed, and excused himself as we needed.  In the mean-time he was taking beautiful pictures with the rings, shoes, flowers, bridesmaids dress, my bridal gown, my clutch...everything!  Not to mention, he did the "usual" shots but he also was very forward thinking and getting shots of us taking pictures.

Juan Carlos, was also very organized after the ceremony with getting everyone to stick around for some whole group shots, then family, then wedding party.  Meeting with Ashley the day after and looking at all the gorgeous photos and moments that were captured just brought back that amazing day.  We had over 1200 pictures to choose from.

Thank you Juan Carlos and Ashley for capturing the essence of our big day.

One Happy Bride,

Nicole Kimura

Hey Ladies! I know this has been discussed before somewhere on this thread, but what are you guys planning in terms of tipping? Not necessarily exact amounts, which can be hard to determine in advance, but, in general, who are you planning to tip? I'm kind of stumped on this one. I think I recall someone saying before that Jessica didn't want a tip?! (Not 100% sure, though!) I'm not trying to be cheap about it, but I also feel like we are paying a pretty penny for certain things, so I don't want to go overboard either. :)

Great, question.  I was wondering about that.  When I have stayed at other all inclusive resorts they are adamantly about not expecting extra tips (since it is included in the price you pay).  Not sure if Excellence is the same way...

@@Sabes44 - From what I have read, the ERC is not a resort that expects guests to tip for day-to-day services, though I'm sure it is welcomed when/if you find it appropriate. I'm referring more to the wedding itself... the DJ? Jessica? Servers? Photographer? I guess I will just plan to have cash on hand for tips and see how the service is and how the night goes?? It's a tough one...
