Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

Curious what people have done for centerpieces. I really don't like any of the options they've sent me. I was thinking maybe vases with flowers and floating candles. Just not sure how to go about this as I don't want to ship glass down and it seems silly to pay the rental fee for the vases. I'd like to hear what other brides did for centerpieces.

Also, I want to do Welcome Bags and include some type of

Tumbler cup. Anyone do this and have a website they used to order from? Did your guests use them?

Thanks!!

Hi Kathryn! Have you talked to Jessica about renting vases? There are a BUNCH of things that she will rent out to you like small voltives etc. Then you could probably get away with packing and bringing down the candles since those you won't have to worry about breaking.

Or bring down just a few glass containers and rent the rest. I feel like less is more when you're down there. The background is so gorgeous. Where are you having your reception?

@@victoriasalv - I made our appointments about six months in advance through their website. After the initial inquiry, it's all via email.

@@kathryn78 - We rented glass vases (three of each per table - different sizes) from Jessica and filled them with sand, shells and water. We used floating candles, and my mom had made burlap wraps to go around the vases. We also used shells around the base and then other décor for the table.

@@victoriasalv -thanks!! yes it would be a good idea to bring the candles myself. I know what you mean about not needing much decor. We are hoping to have it at the Lobster House as it's on a Friday, but they cannot confirm this location until a month before.

@@JenniferH114 - Those sound awesome! Do you have a picture of them I could see? How much did it cost you to rent the 3 glass vases per table? Did you explain how you wanted it set up and give the sand, shells, candles to Jessica for her to set up?

@@kathryn78 Then you're in the same boat as me! :) I'm also doing it on a Fri at the Lobster House. April 29th. How about you? From what I've heard from the other brides here.. they all were told that but didn't have any problems so I don't think we have anything to worry about!

@@kathryn78 - I forgot that when we put together the centerpieces for the actual reception we didn't do seashells around the bases. We did that for the trial run. :) I also attached a pic of our cake, just for the heck of it. I can't stress enough that Jessica and the staff are extremely helpful and really took care of a lot of things all on their own, with a little initial direction. She knows what she is doing.

I didn't like the centerpieces that were offered to me either.  I had the Gold Package and had 2 large centerpieces included.  I asked Jessica if I could have multiple small centerpieces instead of the two large ones and keep it the same price.  I was not charged any additional fee for renting since I basically swapped.  I requested iris flowers and she put them in mason jars which perfectly matched the look I was going for.  Below is a pic of what they did.  I was going for simple.  I did bring my own table runner, candles, and lanterns.

I didn't like the bouquet either.  I just requested specific flowers and colors and they turned out gorgeous!

I did small Welcome Bags with an Itinerary for the week, lip balm, shout wipes and different little things.

@@victoriasalv That's awesome! I'm glad you've heard most people haven't had problems getting the Lobster House.

It'll be here before we know it!  Mine is Fri May 27. So exciting!

@@HNeal I love the way your table looks! I would like to do multiple smaller centerpieces as well. I will check with Jessica on that. We are thinking we may have close to 50 guests, so we'll have to do round tables. I still think a small centerpiece will be OK and then I'll just bring small votive candles and rose petals around it so there's a little more. --Did they have those Mason jars with the lace and tan decoration on them? Or did you bring those?  Thanks!

@@HNeal - Where did you order the Maracas from? Do you remember the cost?
