OOT bags - When to give them to your guests?

Recommended Posts

good point.I like this idea.... hope it won't be too much for us to carry. That's my main concern

I was just going to let them give them out at the front desk, but the more I think about it, the better it seems to have the bags already in the room.  Our guests will already be carrying luggage, so the bag being in the room would be better than having something else to carry...

Wow 70 people! Good for you for being brave enough to take down enough stuff for that many people. I think your idea of greeting your guests as they arrive at the resort with OOT bags is great, what a nice welcome that will be :)

I will designate someone from each group of people coming in to text me when they are leaving the airport, heading to the resort. Then i will grab the bags and meet them in the lobby. This way they can have their bags right away, and they have a personal, friendly welcome!!! We have 70 people coming in roughly five groups, so I think this will be fairly easy. I hope!

I am going to try to do simple OOT bags (with around 100 people budget is limited a little bit unfortunately). Id love to give them to the hotel to hand out, but there will be two kinds - one with information/welcome letter all in spanish, one with information in english. And if the wrong people get the wrong bags...it could potentially be very complicated hahaha

So i guess after working out budget OOT bags...ill have to give them out individually when people arrive. but then that would involve co-ordinating the arrivals of 100 guests....maybe i will handle the english language ones (very small number of guests) and ask the hotel to handle the spanish language ones

MsFoxxy, who is ur planner? I'm getting married on St. John in March and Janelle said I can ship boxes down to her as well. I only have 4 OOT bags and I was planning on bringing them in a suitcase. HOWEVER, one of our guests are arriving on St. John 3 days before we get there. Our planner lives on St. Thomas and our guests are staying on the far side of another island. I just don't know what to do! Any suggestions. I thought about. Giving the OOT bag before we leave, but that defeats the purpose. Help!

My planner told me that they will store anything I ship for the wedding, but anything over 1 box, there's a $10 charge for.  I've talked to a few other St. Thomas brides who didn't have any issues shipping things before their wedding.  Maybe it helps that it's a U.S. Territory, I don't know.. but everyone I've talked to hasn't had any missing packages.  The only thing negative I've heard was that it took a long time for the package to arrive when not using Priority mail.  I figure it will be cheaper to ship than to check an extra bag... plus, airlines lose bags all the time too.  So either way there's always a risk.
