Wedding Attire Wording

I am trying to figure a way to word our dress code. Basically, I would like simples sundresses for the girls, and khakis for the guys- no shorts. What's the best wording for this?

I wrote "casual island attire" I wanted guests to actually be dressed, I had people asking to wear their bathing suits!

What should I wear to the wedding?

We are having a relaxed beach wedding.. but it's still a wedding! We're going for the resort casual look. Meaning men you're ok in nice shorts and a button up. Ladies a nice sundress, carpis, or something of the like would be perfect. You might want to bring a pash, shrug, or cardigan as we'll be by the water all night.

 

Remember NO HEELS! As much as you may want to wear them, you'll thank me when you don't

This is what I have...

For the wedding day: sundresses, linen pants, cotton shirts, no shorts, no ties! Ladies, it might get chilly at night, so a nice shawl or jacket will be handy. Also, we will be walking on sand so keep that in mind when choosing your shoes.

 

However, after reading that it sounds like that's ALL they can wear.... hmmm

What do I wear to a beach wedding?

Something cool & casual. It could be pretty warm during the ceremony. Because "casual" is such a vague word, here are some pictures.

 

I need to add something about shoes & something for when it gets cold.

- I guess we'll call this "resort casual". No need to wear a ball gown, but a sundress, skirt, or capris would be appropriate. For the guys, golf shirts or short sleeved button down shirts and pants or shorts. Flip flops are perfectly fine for anyone! No jackets or ties necessary. We want everyone to be comfortable because it will be warm.

I've been wondering about this too. I think I will add this to the website and to the letter I send out to confirmed guests shortly before our departure, rather than try to include it on the invite.
