Im going through some similar stuff with our closest of friends. Fiance feels like he has no one coming for him. I feel guilty becuase i pushed for a caribbean wedding versus something a bit closer to home. After spending the last week upset about his friends and my BFF who's MIA, my voice of reason sister brought me back. She had a small (second) wedding with only close friends and fam. Ten years later, only a few of those friends are even a part of her life. With all the stress of planning we lose sight of what it really should be about - you and him. That's it.

Merrylee,

You are so right! I especially love that you said that we are entitled to change our mind every day if we want to! Great advice. These are emotional situations.  Stay strong.

It is upsetting at first!

We did not have many people over, I felt bad about it at first, but on wedding day I did not care! We could do anything and everything we wanted, we did not have to please big crowd of people. Our wedding was all about us.

You would not notice that those people are not there on your big day!! But it definitely tells you many things about them...

I feel all of your pain. I too am in the same situation. My parents are not attending because they are Jehovah Witnesses and I am not. I left the religion and they have not socialized with me for almost 9 years this upcoing spring. The other part of my family are not JW's but they are not going either they feel awkward going because my parents aren't. It really hurts a lot that I have not one single person at my wedding from my family. On the upside I have the most amazing frineds. They all really can't afford it at all but are still making sacrifices and even coming. They truly are my family..they are there for everyything in my life..the good and the bad!
