Everything ready, just waiting to get put together.

Oh, I wanted to do envelope liners to make it look prettier, since we were just using plain white envelopes, with my plan printing.

And on the back of the ticket jacket is a map of the Dominican Republic, and I put a starfish clip art right about where our resort is.

All ready for the envelopes and to go!

We used little stickers from vistaprint with our monogram for envelope seals.

We love them! So far a couple people have gotten them, and remarks have been favourable! Hope it keeps up!

Hey, you are even getting married at the same resort! Woohoo!

I'll send them your way.

Am I crazy?

Well, I think so. I ws all excited a couple weeks ago... the right shade of coral, which will be the bridesmaid dress colours, is really hard to find in a casual, but nice, dress. We thought we had them...nope, can't get in the right sizes.

Well, no worries, we have, like, a year left.

But then we were in a shop buying a bike for me (yay!) and FI sees a multiway dress on the wall for only $40! Woohoo... oh, doesn't come in coral. Well, he takes to the Internet, and doesn't have too much luck finding a good price on them, in the right colour, but he DOES come across instructions to make one...

Well, so now I am thinking, heck, with this much time, why not go to the fabric store, get the right fabric, right colour, and make them myself? I only have two to do. It would probably even work out to be cheaper.

I do have a sewing machine. I used to sew in Junior High and High School (not just home ec, either!), and FMIL used to sew a LOT... so I would have help if needed...

What do you think? I love DIY, but is this a little nuts? Hmm...

Okay, tomorrow morning I am waking up early, making the 2-3 hour drive to Calgary, getting my hair done, doing my makeup in a car, and then, I am having BD pics done! Eeek! FI actually bought the groupon for me to do it, so he knows about them. In fact, he is coming to Calgary too. What he DOESN'T know is that I am taking them and putting them into a book, along with some DIY ones.

I am so nervous! And excited! But mostly nervous! I upgraded so I can do two outfits, and I have no idea what to wear. I threw tons of stuff in a huge bag, so today I am going through and eliminating some of them. I still am going to bring TONS though.

I have:

- 3 pairs of heels (blue, pink, and black)

- 1 pair ankle boots (red)

- stockings (2 pairs, one with seam in the back, one fishnets)

- 2 corsets (black and purple)

- bustier (red)

- garters

- lacy bras

- lacy undies

- short black pleated skirt

From FI today I am also stealing one of his ties and a workshirt. Maybe a Leafs jersey too, though I wanted to do some of those DIY.... So far, I am leaning towards a corset outfit for one, and the men's workshirt for the other...

I am SO nervous!

It is actually a use-up-groupon trip... Also going to a couple restaurants, and lingerie shopping. And the hair styling is a groupon too. We love groupon! (Actualy, the book I am going to make was a mixbook groupon too..lol!) We are actually making a weekend of it, and going to check out a couple malls to look for potential bridesmaid dresses. If we cannot find anything, I am probably going to make those multiway ones.

Who else out there is doing BD pics? Any tips I am missing? I have looked at tons of pictures for inspiration (which I will promptly forget as soon as I get there tomorrow), and have read a few threads on here... I am most worried about my makeup. I am supposed to go dark, but I usually do not wear tons, and I bought a cheapy pair of false eyelashes too. I hate that I am on a timeline for them... What if I mess it up? Well, I am sure it will all work out anyway!

Well, maybe not most worried... I am most worried about how they will turn out, since I am a little chubby and quite self-conscious about, like, my tummy and thighs. But they are professionals... they will make it work!

Wish me luck!

Wow what a crazy few days! While in Calgary, we stopped at Forever 21, where we saw these dresses that FI and I both liked for BM dresses. I had decided to make the multiway dresses for them, but then I saw these and the price tag... $33! Seriously! I cannot buy material that inexpensive.

There were only two left in the store, in the sizes that we were after. I took it as a sign, and bought them. It turns out my sister (MOH) will have to have hers taken in a bit, but not too bad. I am still very pleased with them.

Sorry about the bad quality pics. All taken on my cell, in a mall; my sister threw hers on over her tights (and lovely shoes!) just to see the style. But it gives you an idea anyway.

I am happy with them. I had not really thought of doing a one-shoulder before, but we like the colour and the material and the "feel" of them... kind of bohemian/vintage. So I am happy.

Also, I got back some proofs of my bd pics. I am ecstatic with these too!

Now to pick my favourites and see some that have actually been finished! Very excited! I think FI is going to flip! Just kind of disappointed that he knows about them already. Well, he doesn't know about the book he is getting!

Freaking out!

I was really good and organized, and have been picking stuff up and doing little things for more than a year now...

This morning FFIL emailed to say he noticed that our resort is going to be adults only starting July 1. Our wedding is the 18. My sister is 17... 2 months shy of 18 when we travel.

So now we have to look at our options. We LOVE the resort. And there is a chance my sister won't be able to make the trip anyway. But she probably will. Should we change our resort, lose our deposits and everything? Or do I miss out on my sister - who is also my MOH - being there? My only other BM is also pregnant and will have a 6 month old too.

I cannot believe this change is coming around now! AHHHH! I am actually pretty upset here... Hopefully my travel agent can figure something out.

Okay, update time!

We have gotten permission (well, my travel agent did!) to include my sister, who will be 17, at our resort even though it is switching to 18+ right before our wedding. Whew! My bm, who is expecting, will be unable to take her baby though - who will be 6 months old at that time. She swears she will want a break. I doubt that she will come, but I am okay with it because I know she will be involved as possible before and after for the AHR, and my sister was the bigger deal.

Also, it sounds like my parents are probably coming! Yes! They were asking us questions all about it and got our travel agent info, so though they continue to bitterly complain, perhaps they are coming around?!

And... I bought my dress! 2nd store, the first day out! I love it!

I love that it is beachy and pretty and flowy and a little sparkly near the top... It has a corset back and needs minor alterations (mostly seriously shortened and for me to lose about 10 lbs). But I am in LOVE with it. I hope FI loves it too!

It is completely bought and paid for and waiting for me at the store... just waiting for them to get in some fabric bags. Easier to hide and transport than the clear ones they have now. It was a clearance dress. I had such a great day dress shopping with my fmil, mom, sister, and bm. So great!

Okay, in other news... my shoes that I bought last summer. I blinged them up a bit.

400 The total for these shoes? About $38. Yup.

I have another pair of killer blue heels that I may wear for my legal ceremony or something too.

Last weekend I also had a craft day with a friend of mine getting married a few months after me (Actually, another DW - except this one is in winter in the mountains. So fun to compare!)

We sliced and glued and attached the tags to my bubbles...

400 Each tag says "Blow bubbles of good wishes for the new Mr. and Mrs."

And we went thrift store shopping, where I started to find some pieces to make stands for my AHR dessert table.

That is just a few of them. I think I will get a few more and then I will be good.

And then we also made my bouts. Okay, these are way different than I originally planned. I will post them here and I would love some honest feedback (they are also posted in the DIY section). I do like them, I am just not sure if some are too odd. I think it is because some are so different than my plans?

FI and his Gm are wearing simple white linen shirts, and he will be wearing a flower bout included with our package. I did make him one too though, just in case, or for the AHR. Some of these will be saved for grandpas at the AHR too.

So what are your thoughts? I didn't want them to all be the same... but I do not know how I feel about them being so different. I loved them when we were first working on them... now I guess I am just second-guessing. Thoughts please!
