Barcelo Bavaro Catholic wedding requirements

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow brides,

I am having a cathlolic wedding at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace deluxe in Feb 2012 and I'm getting some conflicting information about the paper work needed.

A few websites about religious ceremonies in DR say all documents, such as birth certificates,  must be translated and legalized by the Dominican Republic Consulate

But the requirements sent from the hotel say this:

 A) Very good SCANNED GRAYSCALE copies in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French. (no translation is needed to Spanish) The documents have to be scanned by a scanner, not a Fax Machine

C) The CIVIL and CATHOLIC documents DO NOT NEED TO BE LEGALISED by the Dominican

Consulate previously to a Catholic Wedding.

Is anyone else having this problem?  I don't want to find out the day of my wedding that I don't have the proper paperwork or even worse, I don't want to come back home to find out my marriage isn't legal because of the paper work!!
