the last to get married...

Ladies - I need your help & advice!  Im just a little over a month away from my wedding in Jamaica... all of the ladies in my life are M.I.A. and Im really starting to feel clueless as to where I should be in my "countdown time-line".  I just went through a wedding magazine that suggests this, that, and every other little thing to be done by certain times prior to the wedding.  The thought of teeth-whitening never even crossed my mind!  lol  Is this really that important?  I feel lost without some girly advice... are there things I should be doing now to "prep" for my wedding?  Are there things that Im forgetting or wont even think of that only someone who has had a destination wedding experience can give?

*Breathe*

You have definitely have come to the right place.  I get married November 12 and I had planned on doing the whitening thing with the Crest Whitestrips, they come highly recommended on this site.  I was going to start that at the 30 day mark.

As for your other things, is your resort booked? Is your date & time confirmed? Passports done or applied for? Not sure if you purchase your plane tickets this early (because I haven't yet, LOL)? Colors? Dress? Invitations already sent? Honeymoon decided on?

Right now, I am working on some decor items, decided to do tissue poms. I decided to go with silk flowers, so I will be ordering those this week.

Are you doing a civil or symbolic ceremony? If doing a symbolic, are you getting married before your DW or after? If so, are you changing your name, if so make sure your passport is updated.

I am the least bit organized, yet I know where I am and what needs to be done.  Feel free to ask the brides on this site, trust when I say they will put you at a world of ease, LOL

Ok, Crest Whitening at 30 day mark sounds reasonable.

Im getting married November 11th - resort is booked, all but my mom has received their Passports, date & time confirmed, airfare purchased & recently confirmed,.. Im a lucky bride, my awesome fiance has been handling all of the arrangements.  Now Im working on welcome books for the welcome bags, Jamaica survival kits, & raffia fans for the ceremony.  We have almost everything purchased for the welcome bags, but we have a major hang up deciding on our wedding favors that will be on the tables at the reception dinner.  Im freaking at this point not having everything ordered thats needed!

Were really not adding anything as far as decor to the ceremony or dinner... just going with the Bridal Beginnings package and adding some of their a la carte options (ie. star lighting).  But should I add some personal touches?  Were bringing our own cake topper.... thats about it.

Were having a civil ceremony.  And after reading some posts on here, Im thinking I need to get moving on writing my own vows.  I have no clue on where to even start writing my own vows!

If it makes you feel any better or comforts you come, our date is November 12th, we have no plane tickets (I plan to do that this weekend), I have yet to think about vows, we have not ordered (purchased or even looked for bands yet, LOL)

I have not ordered my raffia fans, made my programs, or even ordered my flowers to do my bouquets. Yet for some odd reason, I am not freaking out!!!

~~~~I am laughing while I am typing this~~~~~~
As for our centerpieces for the table, stealing an idea from another bride, I will bring simple vases, find some of those gel rock thingies and have the bridesmaids bouquets serve as the flowers.  I have made tissue poms to decorate the gazebo and possibly transfer them over to the reception.  Beyond that I am extremely unprepared and not at all worried, which is SOOOO unlike me!
Relax, as the day comes no one will care that you didn't add anything to their table, LOL
Heck no thats not comforting!  I could feel my anxiety rising for you!  LoL  No plane tickets!?!?  I hope thats on your high priority list.. you gotta get on that!
Are you getting married at an all-inclusive resort?  Does it have wedding packages with centerpieces and things included or are you just opting to do your own thing?
Should I really have a program?  I was thinking not to do it just because there's only a few of us and not much to our ceremony.  Have any brides on here done without them?
No plane tickets: well the story behind that is, we were all supposed to be on the same flight, although I wanted to go down either a day earlier or even a few hours earlier. The entire reason we were supposed to be on one flight is because his brother & cousin have never flown. So to accommodate them (us with that DAYUM accommodating), we were all going to be on one flight.  Yet considering the facts (on your other thread), there is no need for us to be on the same flight and I can go on doing what I had planned to do! So as of Saturday, I will be purchasing our tickets (maybe Wednesday, I think they are cheaper then)
We are getting married at an all inclusive resort, our package includes my flowers and his.  Too get bridesmaids bouquets (I have 3) they will be $75 a piece.  I can make all of our flowers (silk) with $150 including corsages and bouts.  Plus with silk flowers I can keep them forever, yet my mom told me today that I can indeed bring my flowers home from the islands on the plane with me. So I'll have both.  As for centerpieces, same thing, the price doesn't justify it, when at most we will have only 4 tables. I don't mind and I have some really deal finding friends.
As for programs, no they are not necessary, I am doing mind because like me, my guest like to collect things.  So, I sent out invitations at the beginning of the month after all plane tickets were purchased, so they were unnecessary. I will be doing the fan programs and I have also made invitations for a "bridal" luncheon, a rehearsal dinner, "bachelor" party and a post wedding brunch.  Things that are unnecessary but will be a good addition to anyone's scrap book or keepsakes.
