Dreams Cancun 2013 Destination Wedding Brides

Hey. I was married at dreams in cancun on may 17th everything was a dream but I haven't received my marriage certificate and was wondering how long it took for others to get theres.. Thanks

Hi Everyone. I just booked my date for June 2014 and have really appreciated reading all of the posts on this thread! I am going to have a pretty big group. . at least 60 people and I just had a few  questions for brides who have already had their weddings. .

 

Which beach do you think is better for the reception?

 

Has anyone used an outside DJ that they recommend that was less expensive?

 

Did anyone bring their own centerpieces and if so, recommendations?

 

What did people do as far as tipping? We had asked Cecilia about this and she made it sound like gratuity is included as it is when staying at the resort but I wasn't sure.

 

Has anyone still been able to make trades? I was reading about trades that people have done .. but when I mentioned it to Cecilia she said that you can't make trades when using a package. We are getting the ultimate package but it sounded like the trades are specifically for the packages?

Yes you can , we had the ultimate pkg and we traded out the cocktail hour and and received 10 extra people for dinner.

We are getting married nov 20 we choose himitsu beach for the reception because it didn't seem as windy. We have 60 people.

I haven't gotten married yet but we have booked DJ Mannia for our DJ. They come with way more stuff and are less expensive even with the outside $150 fee than the Dreams DJ. 

  From what I have read through threads on here, brides have left A LOT of decorations at Dreams for future brides to use, so I would speak with your coordinator regarding what is available.   I have made a lot of trades and everyone else on here has too from what I've read so I would talk to Cecilia about it again. We are using an outside photographer & florist so we are getting a sound system for the ceremony and getting the gazebo decorated. The corsages they put on the gazebo I am going to have them put on the tables as centerpieces after the ceremony on the bridal party tables. I also opted out of the cocktail hour so instead of that we get 10 people comped for dinner.    Hope this helps

I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't talked with Cecilia yet!! I guess I'd better reach out to her. Are any of you doing an event the day after or before. I want to do a welcome party and either an excursion or brunch the next day.

My TA just posted that AMResorts will no longer be managing dreams Cancun or puerto Vallarta after April 2014. Does anyone else have info on this?

Hi everyone! I recently put down a deposit for my wedding at Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa in May 2014. I read many reviews online about the rooms being "old & musty" and the AC not working or not getting very cold. What were y'alls opinions about the rooms and AC? I read online they recently renovated the rooms. Is this true?
