Carly, I ordered a sample message in a bottle invite from marketinginabottle.com and it cost $1.41. It is a 6" plastic bottle w/ 1/2" of sand, tiny shells and a paper umbrella. They cost $3.65 (I think) per bottle for the invite itself. I decided to go the DIY route since it was a lot cheaper. I wanted to do glass, but the postage would have been more expensive for those.

Thanks for the info, Michelle. I think I will stick with the boarding passes (it was between those two), since I already have them all made up. I still LOVE the idea of the message in a bottle, but the boarding passes will be cheaper and I keep thinking I need to cut back (since I went over budget on my dress).

I spent about $250 including postage for mine (my sister did the addressing) and I got them from eInvite.com (mermaid) and I got 25 I think and they threw in 5 extra of everything. I think just the invites were 180 (lined outer env with our address preprinted, invite, response card with env and preprinted address), the postage was about 30 and it was about 40 to print the insert we sent.

For our AHR I got 150 invites (lined outer env with addy, invite, inner env, response card and pre-printed env) for $360. We are printing the addresses, and haven't printed our insert yet our bought postage. I got these at Jean M. They have some really nice/affordable stuff.

I spent about $220 and got them professionally printed. This included a three fold invite, inner envelope and outter envelope and reply cards and pre-printed address labels on reply cards. I got them of the net from invitationsbydawn.com. (there is an american version of that as well). They had a very large selection to choose from. It took about a week to get to me. What I really liked about it was that you can design the invite on the web and actually see what it looks like and make your changes if needed.

I read somewhere that invites on average end up costing between $3-$5 per invite including postage. Mine cam e in at a bit less. The funny part was that everyone was pretty shocked to get one because we have a very extensive website detailing everything so everyone just thought that was it and booked from the website info.

We have spent approx $42.99 on ours, we have had to get them from the states so with the exchange rate being so good, it probably works out to roughly £22-£23. very cheap but we have yet to see what they look like and what we need to do to send them out.

We have finally got our invitations and I have now printed them. I've borrowed some of the wording from here (hope that's okay).

They are very plain and simple (a bit like me blush2.gif) but I am very pleased with them and they only cost £21.77 for 50.

Here they are. The invitation and RSVP (could only do it by doing links, couldn't upload the photos no matter what i tried)
