How much did you spend on your invitations?

Recommended Posts

I made my own. I bought a kit from staples and just printed them, it cost me 39.99 for the kit for 50 invitations, and I think about $40 for postage. I did std's too, myself in letter form, that was another $40 or so in postage, plus I think $10 for the paper.

so altogether, $130

i don't think the inserts are in the shots - but i had 2 cards in there, one was the RSVP (front and back) and one the Welcome Dinner invite - they were pretty casual

ironic, i just noticed the sample was called "Maui Wedding" - i was legally married in Maui!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but did you print everything on your own too?

I really like the design of your invitations but I cant figure out if you printed the center piece and attached it to the folds..

Urgh, I am so painfully DIY-challenged!

oh trust me - there was a lot of trial and error on my part! i printed it all myself, and printed the center piece right on the paper, lining it up in the middle, and then folding it afterwards. i would cut a piece of scratch paper to the size of my invite and test to make sure it lined up before printing on the "good" paper

I requested the samples (they are actually going to make me a couple of invites to pick from) and I have an email into them to see how long until they come in. I'll definitely post pics when I get them so I can get everyone's opinions.

as for the cost - i could easily have spent $5-10 per invite, i really liked some of the expensive ones. but i just couldn't justify it!
I have NO creativity at all. I'm such a loser that I can't do DIY projects.

Brittany was really great to work with. I can't say enough about the compliments we've gotten. They won't send back the RSVP card, but they'll call to tell me how much they liked the invites.. Matt's step-mom took them to the salon and a friend of the family took them to work to show her friends.. :) It was great hearing the feedback (especially looking back at the money we spent!)
I'm totally checking this out. Thank you so much!!!

Jen - if you do decide to buy nice ones that are made rather than DIY I highly recommend White Aisle!
Yes, I'll check these too. Thanks!

I am not big on invites either. For STD, I just sent out an email. I then set up a wedding website with all the information needed to communicate the wedding events and travel info.

For the formal invite, I am planning on doing message in a bottle. There is a MIB bio out there and the instruction is very easy to follow. Trust me, I'm hardly a crafty person, but this DIY project doesn't look hard at all. I am budgeting my invites at $150-$250 for ~50 invites. I am not even going to have a RSVP card in the bottle. I will place a phone number and website address so guests can either call or RSVP online.

Not too many people pay attention to the invites and don't keep them after the wedding either, so spending a lot of money is not the thing for me.

Oh Kate, I was hoping you would respond too. I LOVE your invites. You had a woman design them, right? Would you mind passing on her info?

Also, what was included in your invites (RSVP card, direction card, etc?)

Thanks!
