How much did you spend on your invitations?

Recommended Posts

I am buying the DIY stuff and doing my invites in the next few weeks, so I'll add up the cost and post then.

My STD's were DIY as well. The only cost was the paper (sent as postcards) and the stamps. $90 for 165.

I was/am able to print my STD's and invites on our professional printers at work (I work for a printer ... so can do it there for free).

I anticipate our invites to cost $140 for postage (for 165 plus return postage) and about $100 for the paper/envelopes/supplies ... so hopefully less than $250 for the invites. I'll let you know!

These were my STD's. Very simple postcards...

i'm actually half tempted to say yes! but i have so much i want to do around the house i'd never get it done. you can totally do it - i am no martha stewart, or even a "NurseSarah" (she's the DIY queen!) - but i managed to pull it off. it was more time consuming than i thought it would be - but wasn't necessarily hard.

as for the cost - i could easily have spent $5-10 per invite, i really liked some of the expensive ones. but i just couldn't justify it!

Brittany was really great to work with. I can't say enough about the compliments we've gotten. They won't send back the RSVP card, but they'll call to tell me how much they liked the invites.. Matt's step-mom took them to the salon and a friend of the family took them to work to show her friends.. :) It was great hearing the feedback (especially looking back at the money we spent!)

We spent $908 on invites with response cards and 2 additional inserts. That was for like 150 total I think. I then tied them together with red ribbon (from Michael's) and calligraphied them myself. It was more than I wanted to spend but in the end I loved them. They were from The White Aisle : Unique Wedding Favors and Invitations

Here they are:

Jamy - the even funnier part is when we got down to deciding it was between the one I got and YOURS! Ha! I guess we both have great taste wink.gif!

i can't believe you tied yours with ribbon bows too! We easily could have had identical invites without ever even discussing them! very funny!

I agree about White Aisle - they were fantastic - quick, helpful and I was SO impressed with the quality of the invites. The paper was beautiful and the printing was perfect.

Us too - we changed things like 5 times and she was so patient with us and so speedy on her end!

Jen - if you do decide to buy nice ones that are made rather than DIY I highly recommend White Aisle!
