cake and flowers

For those of you who are using the resorts cake and flowers do they ever send you a "heads up sneak peak" at what you have to choose from? I'm waiting for my travel agent to send me an email with the wedding coordinators contact info however I'm very impatient and just curious if we'll get the oppertunity to look through some of the available stuff before we go down or not?

My suggestion is to give them pictures of exactly what you want.  For flowers it's even better to include a list of the flower types along with the picture.  I'm doing the same with the cake and found even after I sent it in I had to remind them that I wanted fondant instead of butter cream icing.

Your wedding co ordinator at the resort should send you a link to pictures of their cakes and bouquet.  With the cakes though, if you want to bring some extra's to decorate, they normally leave them kind of bear.  I'm bringing ribbon in my colours and asking them to put that around the tiers for pictures.
