Yeah the vendor fees are a killer, I'm paying for day passes for my photographers, and a night at the hotel for both my DJ and videographer and having the flowers dropped off all to avoid vendor fees. lol It's like a game trying to see how to pay the cheapest fee to get the vendors you actually want.  I would have gone with the resort vendors but honestly they were very expensive, communication wasn't the best and the quality just didn't match to what I could find outside of the hotel. So even if i end up paying what I would have paid for their vendors at least I know I got the best and it was the vendor I wanted and didn't settle for theirs just because that was the only option.  It is my wedding after all so I didn't want to settle.  haha I mean our wedding....my fiance is just as picky as me and didn't like any of the hotel vendors.

Yeah, we're doing the same. I was really unimpressed with the Palace vendors for the prices.  We're going to pay the vendor fee for our photographer/videographer, but we're telling BP that theyre under one company and hoping to pay it just once.  We hired the same DJ as you but I'm not sure if we're just going to just pay his vendor fee, or try to book him a room.  Our WC said we'd need 3 nights which is more expensive, so I might wait until we get switched to our onsite and deal with it then. Even if we do have to pay the vendor fee, he was still cheaper and included more in his package than the resort djs.

And haha I love your last line - I call it MY wedding all the time haha, then remember I should say we :P.  My FI has no opinion about these things so is just leaving it all to me haha

Yeah I would wait to speak to your onsite planner about getting a room for a night that's what I did and she said one night would be fine (printing out the email just in case). I actually found the rooms online way cheaper than my TA and the hotels site so paying for their rooms wasn't too bad, way cheaper than an $800 vendor fee for each vendor....ouch!  Plus since I'm getting them rooms my DJ and Videographer all agreed to give me a little bit of a discount and the DJ comes with a lot more than either JSAV or PSAV for the price and DJ Disco Movil's communication is so much better.

@@tygrrlily who are you using for decor?

Who is your dj?

Just for clarification what can the room credits and wedding deposits be used towards if you chose the complimentary ceremony?

@@TheBHolders - Dj Discomovil. He gets great reviews, and I like how on his website he has songs that you can request as must plays or do not plays.  We want a really fun party and we love club/edm music and wanted to make sure our DJ could play that type of music, so it was reassuring to me that he had music we enjoyed, and wouldn't just be playing cheesy stuff all night

You can only use the room credits for some of the decor packages.. it lists it on the brochure thing they send you of the Colin Cowie packages. Wedding deposits I'm assuming can be used toward the costs of the wedding as well

@@tygrrlily thank you. So I've also read somewhere that if the complimentary ceremony package is chosen yiu can't use decor from other packages. I'm disappointed because I thought the credits could also be applied to use on preferred vendors as well.

@@TheBHolders - Yes, if the complimentary ceremony package is chosen, you can pay to upgrade things separately or you can bring things yourself to do it, but you cannot take elements from other packages. They want to make money of course.  Even if you look at the Colin Cowie packages, only some of them allow you to use your credits and it's a maxinum of $1500. That's why I'm not getting any of those packages and am just going to decorate separately

@@NJBride2014 - Marvin sent me the low centerpiece options, and I think I might go that route now.  Haha my FI is understanding, but if I tell him we have to pay xx more so I could get tall centerpieces, I don't think he would be too happy.  I'm debating between yours and the one that is a bit cheaper, but with more shades of pinks and corals!  I have to say, it's refreshing to get a reply from him within a day... I'm still waiting on the hotel's flower options for over a week now :S

@@tygrrlily Yeah I like his response time, ultimately his customer service is what really won me over and the prices for the flowers I wanted couldn't be beat.  What did he quote you for the flowers I'm getting?  Just curious....lol

@@NJBride2014 - Haha i'll PM you now.  I realised I should have checked with you for Discomovil too!  I don't think we bargained enough - I had to fight a bit to get him to even bring party supplies/balloons haha (i suck at bargaining)

I emailed Planner1 for a quote too but haven't heard back yet.  I'm still entertaining the idea of getting 1 outside company to do florals, rentals, etc. and just pay the vendor fee once,
