I am getting married at Beach Palace on August 31st 2014! I have been reading some of your threads and getting little scared!lol. We just started to plan after we reserved our dates. This is going to be a Indian wedding. I am mostly likely brining in outside vendors for makeup, photography, cake. Does anyone know of any good make up artists? Or does the resort have a good artist/stylist. Our site visit in in december.

I didn't hear anything about the $800 vendor fee for outside vendors? So far, we have talked to Kalena only.. any reviews on her?

It would be nice to find other indian brides who are planning their wedding at BP.

Good luck and have fun planning everyone:)

Kalena was my first contact too when I started planning my wedding.  She is great might take some time to hear back from her if you email because she is busy working on her current weddings but she will get back to you.  It's also good to just set up a call with her and get everything you want to ask her that way so you're not waiting on emails.  She handled my site visit and put me in contact with my onsite wedding coordinator very early on so she's been great to work with.

Oh I would definatly ask about the vendor fee because I just came back from my site visit 2 weeks ago at LeBlanc Spa Resort (Palace resort) and there is definately a fee of $800.00 for outside vendors.  So I would have them confirm that with you.

Hi ladies, we just got back last night. I am sorry to say that nothing went according to plan. The week was the most stressful week of my life. I spent the majority of the time crying in my tequila shot. I will say that the on site staff worked very hard to fix things, but that experience was exactly what I was trying to avoid by doing a destination wedding. Couldn't be more disappointed. I will be putting together a formal review, but when I say nothing, I mean nothing. Think twice about BP if you are adding anything beyond their standard package (and even that didn't get set up correctly) If you are using ocean photo and doing the live stream, don't bother it didn't work. You will also need to give them a mandatory photo list in advance, but also have one ready for the photographer on the day of. If you go with JSAV. Make the play list for them, the entire playlist. And even then it was hit and miss. Tania was great, we did have a hair issue, but it was resolved quickly The staff at the bars were amazing. The event staff tried to fix their breech of contract as best they could, but wow. I should not have to do their jobs for them. My fiancé, brother, father, and I all spent days of what was supposed to be vacation yelling at these people. Apparently that was the only way to get to higher management to get things resolved. Worst experience ever. The actual day ended up acceptable, but only because I believe my brother and fiancé worked so hard and we had some divine intervention to clear the weather long enough to still have the ceremony on the sky deck. I promise I will get more details to you ASAP.

I'm sorry too, nor could I believe it was happening. Not to worry - I'm sure I was the fluke. lol.

Just make sure you have everything written down that you can hand them. But I think it depends on who your coordinator is. I am sure everything will go very smoothly - just have your ducks in a row just in case. I'm still working on my review, but just make sure you know EXACTLY what you are getting in terms of your "backup" space. Make sure that you are happy with it before the day of, and if you are not.... DEMAND they pipe and drape the location to make you happy, if it looks like weather may be an issue. They have the service available, its a lot of work, but they can and will do it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!      And congrats!!!
