Iberostar Paraiso Wedding Roll Call

Recommended Posts

I'm deciding between the Iberostar Paraiso Maya and the Dreams Tulum Resort....could you tell me about the experience you've had so far? Has anyone looked into external DJs or photographers or used the ones in house??

Hello Iberostar Brides and Brides to be!

TA Wendy here, from Wright Travel here on the BDW Forum. I am just back from participating in a "Love Mexico" 3 day event at The Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso at the beginning of this month. It was a great event and this resort is absolutely lovely... as a thank you for participating I was given several certificates I am able to pass along to couples who select me to assist as their TA for wedding travel. I have a certificate valid for $100 valid towards a Star Wedding Package, one for $200 valid towards a Silver Star Wedding Package, and $300 valid towards a Gold Star wedding package. Additionally, my tour operator of preference, Travel Impressions, offered to match these certificates for the group block of rooms we would book for couples and their guests. This offer applies to new weddings / groups only, and is valid for travel through Dec 1, 2013.

If anyone is considering the Iberostar properties and I can be of assistance I would love to pass these certificates along!

You can PM me here on the forum or contact me directly at my email [email protected].

Happy planning!

TA Wendy

How exciting, I'm very anxious to hear all about it! Our wedding is 7 months away but Jessica over at The Grand has been beyond amazing! Please let us know what restaurant you had your wedding at. We will have to have our rehearsal dinner at Maya, as we have some of the wedding party staying over there, and we'd like to get some recommendations on the restaurants.

The Gourmet or French restaurant is the fanciest but we liked the food at the Mexican Restaurant, El Tapitio, the best.  The buffet had delicious meats to make tacos and I ordered the grilled lobster as an entree.  The Japanese restaurant can seat 20 people at the hibachi grill (10 on each side) and is fun.  Instead of doing a rehearsal dinner, we had a meet and greet happy hour from 5pm to 7pm at the Snake Bar in the Maya's lobby.  We had the photographer come and take pictures there, too.  It wasn't an extra charge.  We had no food served.  It was just a place for everyone to meet and have a cocktail before heading off to dinner.

Hi Iberostar Paraiso brides!!  I didn't get married here but celebrated my 1 yr anniversary here.  What an amazing resort!!  You will all have an amazing time and an absolutely beautiful wedding.  We saw a few weddings being set up as we walked along the beach...gorgeous!!  The entire complex is amazing and your guests will have so much fun and be entertained the whole time with so many things to do.  I've heard great things about the WCs there...especially Jessica at the Grand.

Let me know if you have any questions about the resort.  I can't wait to hear how everyone's wedding goes!

Kelly... The idea of having a happy hour instead of a rehearsal dinner is fantastic!!! I'm definitely going to request this as well because we had already thought of just having an intimate dinner with our immediate family.

We've submitted our package deals, so we'll see how it all goes from here. Any recommendations about hair stylist at the resort?

Our wedding is on the 6th of July, less than 6 months away!!! I can't wait to let everyone know how it goes! :)

I cannot say enough how true it is what everyone else on this forum has said about destination weddings: difficult upfront b/c of communication barriers and w/e else... but once you're at the resort you dot the i's and cross the t's and the wedding runs super smooth!!! I'll be writing a more detailed post later on, but any upcoming brides, feel free to ask me specific questions!!!

Congrats on your wedding going awesome. I was wondering if you could post some pictures or send them to me in a private message. Where was your wedding location? What resort did you stay at (ie, grand, lindo or maya?). How was the overall food for your wedding and in general at the resort? Thanks

I can't remember who did my hair.  You could ask Jessica to look it up.  I did a practice hairdo on Tuesday, July 31 and then on the wedding day, Thursday, August 2nd.  The same woman did it both days and also did my make-up.  I got false eyelashes and had her put them on....no need for waterproof mascara and you can get a pair that looks pretty natural at any beauty supply store.
