Iberostar Paraiso Wedding Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Lily sent me several pictures of the restaurant from different angles at a wedding and during regular lunch/dinner service.

She also sent me the menu options from all of the restaurants.

They have a buffet for appetizers and dessert (I actually liked the setup, it wasn't like a long assembly line of food in metal pans, they actually plated them in Mexican serviceware). Entrees are served. If you have more than 25 people, guests have to choose their entree in advance and the restaurant asks you to make placecards indicating each person's dinner choice. You can get creative with this by color coordinating an entree choice wtih a color, or a letter, or symbol, etc. Lots of options for this if you google it.

Lily sent me a list of flowers that are included in the package and those that are extra, as well as a few pictures. The name of the game is make sure you constantly ask for things and be very specific because if you only ask for the bare minimum and assume they know you want more because they're in the business and this is what they do day in and day out....you will only end up extremely frustrated. However, in the end, when we sat down in person, everything was worked out!

So like if you have a chicken, lobster, steak, and vegetarian choice, you can make a key for the waitstaff (chicken is yellow, lobster is orange, etc.) and then put a sticker with that color on the placecard for each guest.

What I did was make labels with each person's name and table number and wrote out the entree choice on that as well and stuck those labels on the packaging for one of the wedding favors, which doubled as an escort "card" and the label colors matched the favor and were the transparent ones so it wasn't tacky.

Of course not!! Please, use away :)) I'm more than happy to make another bride's job easier!!

Also keep in mind, anytime you have a group dinner with 25 or more people, they're gonna ask you to make table cards for each person with their entree choice, which I find really annoying.

which wedding package did you purchase?

Did you have a beach ceremony or the gazebo?

would you reccomend having a beach dinner?

Is it extra to have a private dinner on the beach?

Did you use the hotel's photographer?

did you have any complaints?

Hi MayaBride2, From the communication with Lily, that's what is sounds like; because we have so many people we are having a private dinner.  I didn't rent out the resteraunt but if you have over 30 it is private.  I've been to the resort before and it seems like they could split the resteraunts if they needed to, but I am not particular sure about it, nor am I concerned.  The wedding planner requested how we want our table arranged, we made it clear that we want a dancing area and have hired a DJ and she has not said anything that makes me think this will not be a good area?  My brother and his wife married at the Iberostar in Jamaica and they had the whole resteraunt because they had 50 people and everything went amazing so I do not have any concern.  I will admit that it is a bit stressful because they are very bad with communication through email, but I trust that it will all be okay!  Have you decided where your wedding will be?  Do you do the dreams package as well?
Hi! So we have 54 people coming. Are you saying that we don't have to rent out the restaurant but because we have over 30 people it will be private? I'm so confused! Haha. We want to get married on the beach. As for the dinner after, are you able to have a "dancing area" there? So we could do everything in the restaurant? We actually didn't do a package. We just did the free wedding package since we had enough people and then figured we would add in whatever we wanted. Thanks for the help!!!
