No one has booked! :(

Ladies, also keep in mind that things do get lost in the mail!  So a call or email may be in order.  Just don't do it until after your RSVP date has passed. An example of this happening is when I spoke to my best friend from college on the phone and she actually sent in the RSVP card via snail mail and I never received it.  She had booked and we speak regularly so I already knew she was coming, but there are plenty of others I do not speak to regularly like my parents' friends and stuff.  I have had invitations not make it to people, etc.  It happens more often than you think. So don't assume that just because you haven't heard from them that they are being rude and not RSVPing.

I have an option to RSVP via my website as well but it seems most folks really like doing it the old fashioned way via snail mail or by calling and telling me or my parents.  I do not care how we get notified, just as long as we do get notified.

You are so right of my 85 invites I still have 6 that are MIA. So my first instinct would be to follow up rather than be hurt. I actually have a guest who was really hurt because they felt that they were not wanted.

Then it's on time.  You could send a text message or email to remind them the deadline has passed and when they expect to book. But don't do it yet.  I'd wait until maybe a week before the absolute deadline if they haven't booked by then..you have no choice obviously but to hound them as they are in the wedding!

agreed, people tend to book at the last minute once they have as much as possible saved up even though a lot of places will allow you to just put down a depost first.

People are starting to book! So far we have 16 people booked, including both of our parents! I am getting so nervous! Not nervous about the marriage but I'm really nervous about the wedding itself! I don't really like being the center of attention and it's beginning to look like most of our guest will be from my fiance's side, and a lot that I haven't met yet! I don't really like the "all eyes on me" thing. I'm also scared that it won't be "fancy" enough for them. I'm a very simple and basic kind of girl, I don't care much about flowers, centerpieces, etc but now I'm starting to think if I don't do enough, they might think it's cheesy.

If they think your cheesy, then that says something about them, not you.  Always remember that it's your day and the only standards that have to be met are those set by you and your groom.  It' your moment, do what makes you happy.  I tend to get caught up in the details (I'm just neurotic that way), but honestly, if I didn't do a thing and just showed up, I know my wedding would still be beautiful. The Now Jade is a gorgeous resort, and having a DW speaks for itself.

Doesn't it feel good to have people make a commitment to come to your wedding?  Our guest list is rounding out this week and it feels great to finally have an idea of the number of folks coming. It also feels good that the amount of guests coming matches the amount I had in my head!  Don't get nervous about the small stuff. You can have your venue coordinator help you pick things out or a friend even.  Good luck on the rest of your wedding planning

Our wedding is July 4 2013 and we only have 14 people booked. We sent out about 80 invites and have only had 3 "real" RSVPs, as well as the people that have actually booked and put their deposit down. I am somewhat disappointed in the lack of interest but the people that have booked are the important ones so I really can't get that upset. Is it common for people to book last minute or should I just accept the fact that it will be smaller than anticipated? The plus is that it will be more affordable to buy all the little "extras" with less people and we might be able to pay for an excursion with the money we save :)

It is a little early for you to fret, Ashley.  When is your RSVP due date? Be prepared to be on pins and needles about your guest total until that date or maybe a few days before your RSVP is due. That is how people are. Even if they know for sure from months ago that they can't make it, they will wait until the very last possible moment to let you know this info lol  It's very frustrating! Hang in there.

We have already had our early booking deposit date come and go, which i think is what is stressing me. I understand that the holidays will definitely make an impact on peoples plans so hopefully now that they are over people will get their plans on the go. I put our RSVP date for May 1 but wish I would have made it sooner! I just really want to have a good idea as to how many people will be coming (or even THINKING of coming) so I can at least start making my purchases. Hopefully things will pick up! I know time flies so I am already panicking!!
