Any customs issues?

Hi Ladies!

 

I'm just wondering if anyone had any issues getting their OOT bag items through customs?  I've heard that carrying multiple items of the same thing can make them think that you are going to resell them in their country.  Do I only need to worry about this if it's alot of the same thing or do I need to put items in multiple suitcases to break it up?  Thanks for your ideas!

From what I have read on here, just bring your receipts with you and you should be okay.

I've never heard of bringing your receipts, but I did think about getting through customs. Sounds like something else to add to my to-do list!

I'm fairly new to this site but I see OOT bags on here alot...this might be a dumb question but what does OOT stand for?

I'm from the Dominican Republic and travel there quite a few times, they don't really open up your suitcases once you're at PUJ airport. It's more when you're leaving the country since they know people like to bring back fruits, liquors, cigars back home. If they do open the bags, make sure to break it up into other suitcases so as not to make it seem you are there to SELL them. If anyone has any DR related questions just ask and I'll be happy to give you any info!
