I just got an email from them that they will probably be tearing it down entirely before my wedding and putting something similar to the tulum one up in its place!

When is your wedding date? I have no idea now as to whether I need any decor/flowers for the new tulum beach site without seeing it done it for weddings.will probably just have to go look at the site as soon as I arrive as I'm meeting the wedding coordinator the day after we arrive. Something else for me to stress about 4 weeks before the wedding! Thought I was all organised n sorted!!

I think I'm ok with it being white. I was going to ask for white fabric to go around the posts anyways and I want to bring pink fabric to go across the top.

I'm booked for November 11th. The email I got was in broken english, but I asked whether the Akumal site had been painted white and they said "Yes has been change and we are sure that will change too for November... we will try to do something similar to the beach front in Tulum"

I think I'm just going to wait and see what happens. I'm not opposed to the white. I think it could be really pretty with a bit better paint job. Is anyone putting out for the flowers for the posts? OR what kind of decor were you thinking or adding?

 When it was dark wood with white draping, I didn't think it needed anything. If it's still up and still white when we get down there, I feel like I'd need something, probably flowers on the posts?

I had flowers on the post for my wedding and I loved it.  They weren't too expensive and they used them as centerpieces for the reception.  So if it's still a problem in November maybe that is a good option for you ladies.

 

And how cool that you guys are so close in dates!  You'll have to get together and toast to your happy marriages!

I'm thinking about adding the flowers. I think they are charging $125 a piece.

 

How much fabric did you bring with you? I need to get some but I don't know how much. Did it add a lot of weight/space to the luggage ?

I used a very silky material, so it didn't add too much.  I bought 16 yards I believe but mine didn't touch the ground. 

 

I also cut the fabric in half (the long way) so it wasn't so wide and then I used the other half as table runners for our dinner tables.

I have a question for brides or people that have already been to the resort. I am working on a small itinerary for our group. We arrive on a Thursday and I remember that is the night of the mexican party. I would like to put something on there such as meet us in the lobby for a welcome drink or the buffet, but I don't know if I should put something in about the mexican party at the hacienda. Is there still another show in the theatres that day?

Is the mexican party worth paying to get into? Is there food there?
