Hi Ladies!

Have loved reading through all the info!  We are planning a 4/20/13 wedding at the West Bay Club. I'm thinking we will have around 30 or so guests.  We are still thinking about our room blocks, but will likely have a block at the WBC and Ocean Club resort.  Looking forward to your great ideas as we plan!

Hi all!

Isn't this forum the greatest thing ever? So helpful! My wedding is in December 2012 at Seven Stars.

I just happened to be looking at the T&C tourism website and saw something about passport requirements. The site states that visitors to T&C must possess a passport which has been valid for at least 6 months prior to entry. I have not seen this on any other website and can't find any information on US travel regulations.

I'm just concerned about several of my guests who do not already have a passport! Anyone have any information?

Hi, I couldn't find the passport requirements you were looking at but I am a resident here and have been for 16 years.  Visitors must have a passport if they are not from here and it must not expire for 6 months after they travel (which is actually more of a US requirement and recommendation, they don't want you here and your passport expires and you can't leave LOL).   I have come on island with a brand new passport that is only weeks old as have my kids and many of my friends (many of us bring our newborn babies within 4-6 weeks of birth).  It's the expiration they worry about.   I haven't heard any news about it must be valid for 6 months and believe me that would be news here because of the huge expat population.   If you have a link to the wording please post it.

Krys,

Thank you for your response to my question. That's good news!! I guess I misinterpreted their wording on Turks and Caicos Tourism website. I was wondering why I didn't see anything like this mentioned anywhere else!

The link where I saw this is as follows:

Or the Turks and Caicos Islands representative at the Turks and Caicos Islands office in London, England, or New York, United States of America.

IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS
All visitors must hold a round trip ticket. Visitors are allowed to stay for 30 days; this is renewable one time only

Passports:

Hi! I'm having my wedding Aug 2013 at the gaansevort and really excited about it. How many people did you have at your wedding. Can you give me synopsis of your wedding, ie, did you do cocktail hour with food, did you have sit-down dinner, did you get a band, etc?

Thank you so much!

Hi ladies -- hoping to start up this thread again and get some advice.

I'm getting married in May 2014 in Turks and Caicos and try to decide between Seven Stars and The Somerset. We've visited both and really can't choose. They both have such different feels to them but I really like them both -- I think the Somerset is more charming, intimate, flexible, and allows us to have more people (we were hoping to have 100 guests, but we're having a hard time cutting our invite list) but we'd have to do both the ceremony and the reception outdoors which can be hot and humid in May....

The Seven Stars has the amazing deck overlooking the beach for the wedding ceremony that I love love love (so I can have the outdoor beachy wedding minus the sand) and an amazing chef. But I don't love the reception space (the restaurant) and the resort feels a little more commercial....plus the rooms are a bit more expensive.

So, any advice? Has anyone recently gotten married at the Somerset on the beach that has insight on how it will go and what it will look like? Did you have your guests take off their shoes? And where did you do the reception, in the garden?Anyone had their resort at the Seven Stars recently that has pictures and insight?

Also I'm stumped about bands.   Suggestions? We'd like a group that will play a mixture of pop hits, oldies, alternative, light rock, etc -- a band similar to what we could get in the states but not too pricey.  Also we'd love to have a cellist or pianist play during the ceremony. Has anyone done this and have suggestions of musicians?

Thanks so much!

Hi there! This is a great forum from first hand brides. I'm debating having my wedding at seven stars as well. But I'm worried about the expenses for the guests. Maybe I misunderstood this, but if you have your wedding/reception at seven stars, are your guests required to stay at seven stars? I'd really prefer them not when Comfort Inn is just across the street. Also, do you have the do the package deal they have on their website or can you just pick a couple things and combined together for a new package price? Thanks so much for your advice!
