Engraving Question

Recommended Posts

Now that we finally have our bands, I am going to get FH's engraved as part of his present.

I want to know what to do. On the inside I want to put "More Good Than Bad" an inside joke, and I also want to put the date of our wedding and a heart and my initials.

So, do I put the date? I am worried that the date could change cause of weather, so should I chance it? Also, do I put a heart and then JR, or JG (my new initials once I get married)? Advice please.

I thought about that, but I feel like I want to do it now as its his gift. I could just leave out the date and put more good than bad and heart J? What do you think about that. I could always add the date later I guess.

What initial do I use?

If you want the date, you would also have to make sure the quote, the date and the initial all fit on the ring. I mean, if he has a big finger, then perfect, but if his fingers are smaller, just keep that in mind when deciding on how much you want to have engraved on the ring.

As far as initial, I'd put your married initials over your maiden initials if you are going to change your last name.

If you're changing your last name, definitely use your married name initials. Starting the day he gets that ring, that will be your new name, right?

My married initial eh, that will be the first time I ever use it. lol Kinda freaky. But you are right, it is my name.

Also, good point, he has pretty small fingers. I will just put the quote and then the heart and initials and if there is room, later I can put in the date when I know the right one.

Thanks ladies, I suppose you are right, the day he wears the ring I am officially going to be JG.

Do you really think the date will change? Are there not change of venue options at your resort for inclement weather? Ours will just move inside if the weather doesn't cooperate...
It is an option to move to another location, but we do have our hearts set on getting married on the beach. So, I think we might opt to change the day over changing the venue. Does that make sense?

You are right, I never thought about just a heart and J, that works.
