I agree with the other ladies, I would def be offended if asked to pay after I had already shelled out $4000+ to travel to destination. Maybe you should re-consider your venue to somewhere on resort where it remains AI.

I agree with the ladies. I have actually never heard of guests paying for themselves at a wedding.

If you are having a DW, you should seriously look at doing an AI. I think if I went to a reception and was asked to pay for my meal, I would actually be angry. If I were you, I would not even consider doing anything where my guests had to pay. I don't think cash bar is even appropriate for a DW. They are traveling for your wedding, you should treat them!

I would be really offended if I was asked to pay for my own food and drink at a wedding. If you can't afford it then maybe you need to find somewhere cheaper to get married or limit your guests.
