I've decided on Barcelo Maya Palace - Now I need help!!!!

I want to have a gorgeous wedding on a budget in 2012 (because we have 3 children to take along), but it seems like the costs are skyrocketing.  Has anyone just taken the free wedding and added to it in order to stay within budget?  I specifically need reception ideas so that we aren't spending a fortune!

I love shooting weddings at the Barcelo... there are so many locations there that you should be able to have fun with your wedding group! I have been to some weddings, at all inclusives like the Barcelo, that just grab an open area and make a party! Sure... you may not have drink and food service... but who cares! You can find a bar just around the corner and you have to get it yourself. You can bring your own music and make a party happen. If enough of you show up at one spot... you will take it over and have a blast and not cost you anything.
