At any rate I really just want some helpful tips about what to expect from the staff. I chose the fantasy package, we still have people making their reservations but to date we have 30 ppl booked. We think we will end up with about 50. Ofcourse I want it to be really nice but i am so super afraid of hidden costs.

HELP!!!!!!!!!
Hi! You might want to check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...s-share-29061/

You should find more recent info and current PPR brides there because this thread hasn't been updated in a year. Good luck!

Hi everyone!  I'm looking to get married sometime early 2012 and I'm currently researching resorts.  I'm planning a trip down this Nov to look at resorts.   I'm really interested in the PPR, but I'm a little concerned about rates for my guest.  The PPR is a little more than what I'd expect guests to pay.  I'm thinking I may be able to get a better rate by negotiating.  Is anyone willing to share what sort of group rates they were able to negotiate with the resort?

The great thing about PPR is that the Melia Tropical is right next door and shares the same beach and a shopping center with PPR. So if some of your guests can't afford PPR they can stay at Melia and just purchase a day pass on the wedding day. You can see your guests on the beach in the day time and at night if you want to meet up there is a Tony Roma and a Hard Rock cafe in the shopping area which connects the 2 resorts.

This way everyone is Happy...u get your beautiful wedding location and your guests have options.

thanks for the info!  i did not realize the melia was so close.  we are trying to get everyone on the same resort, but that is a good option to have in case it cannot be a reality. my only concern would then be how the restaurants in the shopping area work?  my guess is that they are not apart of the all incluse, which would be a bummer.

i guess i'll find out in nov what sort of rates we can negotiate and go from there. so nice to know the options though.  thank you because I would of never known this!  at least i know i can work something out if i end up really loving the PPR and it is too pricey.

I am making my guests staying with us at PPR, I know is a little selfish, but if they all travel all the way for our wedding, might as well stay with us. They get to be with the group at a nice resort and we donâ€t have to worry about where everybody is located.  If they stay in another resort, they will have to buy day passes to come in to PPR and trust me, Day passes are not cheap! So instead of purchasing day passes, they could take the money and putting into their room at PPR.  This is just my opinion ;)

Apparently the pass is $140 unless %55 of your guests stay at PPR then its $30. So I'm telling guests that the pass is $140 should they choose to stay elsewhere. This will probably be more of a reason to stay at PPR.....or at least I hope so.

I really want to have my dream wedding at my dream location and it might be selfish but my Fiance and I feel that we shouldn't have to down grade b/c some folks don't want to spend the $. We are expecting 50 but we completely comfortable if only 10 ppl are at our wedding. *shrugs*

Hey BKBeachBride,

I too am traveling with 50 people and plan on getting married at the Paradisus. What package did you choose?  I am going with the Chill Out Chic package.  I really didnt want to spend so much money for my wedding, but when you have a larger party like we do - its hard not to.  I also wouldn't mind if only 10 people showed up! LOL!  I just want to get married and have a good time! Any info you can lend would be great!  Thanks! :-)
