PurpleUnicorn I think you pulled off the flower and veil combo beautifully!!
Thanks for posting the photos!

The photos posted so far seem to be brides with curly and/or thick hair. Anyone out there with thin, fine, horribly straight hair like myself? lol I'm worried because my options will be so limited.

I have fine hair, it has a wave but i know full well it wont keep a curl for a whole day through humidity. When I think about my hair do I think I would like something half up, but then my practical mind starts thinking about it being windy and if it will continue to look as nice through the day.  I dont know about maybe having clip in extension to add some volume for a nice up do.  And hope that the salon would know how to put it in and make it look nice.

The extensions might be a good idea!! (Although, I wouldn't have the first clue how to put them in, so same as you, would be relying on the salon).
I know I don't even have enough hair to do a half-up type do...so that may be a good solution.

Any thin/fine hair brides have pictures or suggestions to share?

Oh I would love to hear this. I have super fine and thin hair. I have to keep it short or I look totally bald. It is my least favourite physical feature.

I am thinking I will curl mine (it will be somewhere between chin and shoulder length) because that tends to add volume. Then I will probably pull a side back for a hair flower, rthough I was also thinking a veil (just to feel more bridal and pics), but not sure if that would be too much with short thin hair.

But yes, layers and curls add volume for me.

I originally thought about extensions, but, while the salon is supposed to be good where I am going, it isn't supposed to be amazing, and I am not sure if I want to fiddle with them or not.

Here are a few photos of my hair. It was really windy but I was determined to have at least some of my hair down. Here's what we came up with...

This is right after it was done at the salon. SOOO much hairspray and sizzling with the curing iron (I was cringing but stuck with it because the ladies at the salon are professionals), it was a little crunchy looking for my taste, but it held up in the wind (for the most part) and was still pretty at the end of the day (I thought).

Walking in the wind for the first time (a few strands of hair decide to let loose). Curls start to let down and I liked the overall look better than the fresh crisp curls.

Full on intense wind on the beach.

After the windy beach! Curls still in place and hair overall still pretty good :) I give the salon at Excellence Playa Mujeres an A+

I'm wondering about clip in extensions too. My friend had extensions put in for her wedding day and they gave her massive volume. She actually still has them! My concern would be having someone that is not my hair dresser know how to put them in properly to give the effect I want.
