RMBride2B's Planning Thread :)

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I decided to start my own planning thread as my wedding is about 9 months out now and I am DIY'ing as much as possible (on a tight budget!). Anyhow, I know there will be new brides that may need some ideas or inspiration, so here goes :)

This is the bridesmaids bouquets... I flowers from Garden Ridge. They came in bundles (about 9 stems each for the dahlias... both the dahlia bundles and hydrangeas were $2.99 each. Since this picture, I have cut the stems with wire cutters to my desired length, wrapped them with floral tape ($1.99 at Michael's) and bought a roll of fuchsia/hot pink ribbon (2 for $3 at michaels). I sealed the ends of the ribbon with a hot glue gun.

This is the flower basket and sea shell holder that I made. The basket I bought at Michaels for about $2 on sale. Then I bought a half a yard of ivory fabric from a fabric store to line the basket (just use hot glue gun to seal the fabric on). I hot glue gunned mini sand dollars on the handle part and and mini starfish on the top of the basket (on the fabric part). I used raffia ($5.99 for a whole bunch at Michael's) and tied it in a bow around the handles (I have since cut the ends of the raffia, so that it doesn't hang too long and also finished the inside - sorry haven't taken a picture of these since I finished them up).

For the sea shell holder (ring holder)... I bought the shell from Michael's ($2?) and used some of my leftover ivory fabric to line the inside of the shell. I cut a circular sized piece, then hot glue gunned the edges underneath to not have jaggedy edges. I then took a flower bud (from flowers I will be using in other parts of the wedding) and hot glued gunned it to the shell. Lastly, I cut 2 short strands of raffia under the flower petals and these will be used to tie the rings, so they won't fall off the shell....
