How important is the site inspection? Did anyone go without it?

Recommended Posts

Hello brides!

I need some advice. Hubby and I are pretty much in love with the Gran Caribe chapel for our destination renewal of vows. But this summer has not treated us well financially (I'm a teacher) and it looks like we don't have the money for a site inspection!

Have any of you ladies planned and done your DW without a site inspection? Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi VJ!

I'm in the same boat as you, I won't be doing a site inspection for our wedding May 11, 2012. I am lucky enough to have my TA/coordinator traveling to the Mayan Riviera and she's going to pop by our hotel.  From what I've heard a lot of TA's do mini trips throughout the year to check out different wedding locations.  So even if yours can't make it there may be another person in that office who has or will be traveling to your particular resort.

Good luck!

There are A LO of women on here who are more than happy to help with everything!! Which is why this site is SO great!! Start a new thread!! Asking for pictures specifically for that location keep bumping it up you may get lucky!! I have had TONS of fellow brides send me their personal pictures in e-mail from their weddings from the Beaches Resort in Negril!!

I'm not doing a site inspection. I just did lots of research based on reviews and the great people from this website. I'm trusting everything will be good. And personally I want the first time I'm there to be for my wedding, more exciting in my mind.

We aren't doing a site visit.  Financially it wasn't feasible for us and we trust all the months of research we did before hand, also this site has been a life saver!

Same here - doing a site visit just wasn't feasible.  However, for me the vacation days from work was an even bigger problem than the money.

  • 2 weeks later...

If you can't do a site visit try to look on youtube. Some of the previous brides who have done site visits uploaded videos of their visits. This way its like you doing a site visit without doing a site visit. Also if you go to your resorts page most of them have a live webcam. You can see the setup for some weddings and actual weddings going on.
