The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

Recommended Posts

Hey!  Thanks for your response... yes I definitely agree it's going to be tough, but hopefully not impossible.  We are not doing a legal ceremony, we will get married here before we go and just do the symbolic.  I'm also pretty sure I'm not going to be able to do much in terms of flowers, which I'm ok with.  Price included aqua package for 50 i believe, 3 hour dj, 1 photographer for 3 hours, 4 hour videographer.  I see all the extras they offer, and they're super tempting but I know they're not necessary.  I'd rather spend our money on our honeymoon to Bora Bora!  I'm super close to booking this resort, I'm just getting nervous that once I'm locked in I'll find out about all sorts of extra fees, etc.  Hoping to get into this while somewhat knowing what to expect.

OH also, make sure you ask about the service fee and tax.  It can add up.

Hello All,

I'm getting married in October at the Paradisus Resort! I need some help selecting a local DJ.  I've read a couple of bad reviews for JSAV audio & visual and I am therefore looking at other dj's (although I'm curious to read additional reviews about JSAV if anyone would like to share with me).  Has anyone booked DJ Doremixx or Disco Movil? If so, can you let me know what your experience was like?  My fiance is very particular with music so I'm hoping to find someone who would accommodate our music list (it's mainly going to be hip hop).  Thank you!

Hi ladies,

So I need help. I am at the very early stages of planning a destination wedding and I have NO clue what to do. My FI and I did go through every all inclusive resorts in all caribbean islands and mexico (oh yessssss it took us 8 hours eek) and we have now narrowed it down to either Paradisus or Hard Rock Riviera Maya (based on decor). We have stayed at the Hard Rock in Punta Cana and loved it but have never been to the one in Riviera Maya (they just changed over to Hard Rock late 2013). Anyways, I really dont know how to decide which would be a better bet. I was hoping you could give me some insight on your weddings and stays at Paradisus. Now having been there would you go again? What vibe did Paradisus have? Relaxed? Party? Was it active during the day and evening? Shows? Dancing? Did your weddings turn out alright? I know at Hard Rock they have staple packages you pick from with colors, etc and thats how it will look.. it seems like at Paradisus despite their packages you still have a decent amount of control in regards to types of chairs, etc. I am also wondering what your over wedding prices ended up being. We think we will end up having about 60 guests but have no clue (our wedding will be in 2016 so we have some time). Sorry for all of the questions but any help you could give me would really help me out. Thank you so much!!!

Tam

@@futuremrs13 I got a local DJ in NJ and flew him out.  It was a bit more expensive, but TOTALLY worth the peace of mind and they did an amazing job!!  In fact, another BDW bride was on a site visit and popped into our wedding to see it, and she hired our DJ too!! =)
