The new Paradisus Playa del Carmen (La Perla and La Esmeralda)

Recommended Posts

Good luck on getting replies. I think nothing is really planned until you are actually down there. They are overwhelmed, overworked, and understaffed.

Perla is not on her shyt. We had to go over the same details 3x.

The only person I have had success is Pilar. Pray that by the time you arrive that she will still be working there.  Otherwise it's a complete stranger planning your wedding from scratch. That's how my wedding was. I had planned it with the Miami office and one of the Wedding office coordinators in Mexico but by the time my date rolled around, NOTHING was planned.

I wasted two days prior to my wedding to plan and go over every detail. We had to do a site walk though AGAIN!

The DJ sucked. He asks for a formal list in the way of a form of songs you don't want played (he played them), he asked what first dance song we wanted, he forgot that and played some random song we've never heard before. My husband and I till this day wonder what song we danced to as husband and wife so that we could dance to it again. Have no friggin clue.

We told them we are going straight to the first dance after the wedding party enters. Instead dead silence no transition, meanwhile me and husband are standing there looking at each other, loking at him then they cue the random first dance song.

Why make us fill out forms if you don't bother reading them? they suck balls JSAV

Try to avoid DJ JSAV company, they are a ripoff, they don't listen, they make you fill out forms and ignore them

(Paradisus Playa del carmen July 6)

Dear JSAV,

I love how you send out pricing and then give me a quote that is almost double.  You have inconsistent pricing. Even though your brochure clearly says one price you tried to give me the runaround. Eventually I got the hotel to step in and get you to give me the price as written.

The company representative that met with us the day before the wedding said no worries he'll take care of us on the wedding day.  On the day of the wedding, he was there but he was not DJing he hired two buffoons that SPOKE NO ENGLISH.  I asked when they were ending it, they had no idea what I said.

The company representative asks for a formal list in the way of a form of songs you don't want played (he played them, I HATE cha cha slide, and the similar group songs he played every focking one of these g0dd@mn songs) ahead of time, he asked what first dance song we wanted, he forgot that and played some random song we've never heard before. My husband and I till this day wonder what song we danced to as husband and wife so that we could dance to it again on each anniversary. Have no friggin clue. thanks for stealing that moment from us.

How hard is it to find "HOME" by Michael Buble.

We told them we are going straight to the first dance after the wedding party enters. Instead dead silence no transition, meanwhile me and husband are standing there looking at each other, loking at him then they cue the random first dance song. AWKWARD silence waiting for them to put that stupid song on! The DJs sucked. THey play the dumbest songs. This is not prom or quincerera!! It's a wedding.Learn class!

Why make us fill out forms if you don't bother reading them? YOU suck balls JSAV

Omg I hired JSAV. My wedding is on Nov 2nd. I haven't paid them yet because the invoice that they emailed me was outrageous. It was literally double the amount we spoke about. Bianca in the Miami office says one thing and the hotel says another. I really regret having my wedding here. I have 80 guests who have already booked their flights and hotel. I'm so nervous that's it's going to be bad and I'm going to embarrass my self. I'm really scared and worried I have such anxiety. What should I do. Perla started answering me and then all of a sudden stopped again and we didn't figure anything out. How can she order all the flowers two days before the wedding. I'm pissed

I hired JSAV for our wedding too, but at a different hotel. A similar thing happened where the original quote randomly went up with a charge that wasn't there before. It was a charge for labour that apparently was forgotten on the first quote, however I had it in our emails that labour was included in the first quote. I called the person I'd been dealing with and told him that I wasn't ok with the new charges and negotiated the price down. Everything after that went smoothly with them and I was happy with their services. They set up speakers and a mic for our ceremony, and then moved the speakers to our reception area. The tech spoke English and played our ceremony playlist, dinner playlist, first dance song and party playlists we gave him. Don't stress! Just be firm and stand your ground. Sometimes prices down here in Mexico vary, that's just the way it works. Everything will work out in the end! You'll marry the man of your dreams in paradise and nothing else will matter. :)

Hi Jessica I feel your pain. I had many sleepless nights leading up to our wedding day. Same thing happened to me with the dj quote, the pricing didn't match the wedding extras form that the resort gave me when I booked my wedding but I stood my ground and they honored the pricing. And fortunately the night of the wedding I had a great experience with the dj from jsav, they played most of must plays and kept us on the dance floor. As for my important songs, our 1st dance, father-bride etc we had them uploaded on an iPod just in case they didn't have those particular songs. Thankfully they had them all so we didn't need the iPod, but we did use it for the ceremony. We loaded songs we wanted our guests to be seated to, my walk down the aisle song and song to be played after our ceremony. The resort had speakers and someone to man the iPod so everything went well there. We had a guitar trio for cocktail hour then used the dj for 3 hours after. By the way the dj's lighting set up was nice too, we choose the color purple and I think they had 8 led lights in total. We had a brief meeting with them the day before our wedding so that may have helped to avoid any big mistakes. I will admit Paradisus wedding/romance department was not the easiest to work, they desperately need to streamline there process and everyone there needs to get on the same page but take a deep breath cause it will be ok. Your guest are booked and I'm sure very excited to celebrate with you and your fiancé, the resort is beautiful, you will all have fun! You just need to be extra organized and on top of them. Bring all your correspondents and final choices, I had a big binder with me down there and boy did it come in handy! After all the stress and anxiety our wedding was exquisite and I was able to remember why we choose paradisus, we wanted a beautiful, modern, elegant experience and at the end of the day that's exactly what our wedding was. Best of luck, try not to stress too much. Be proactive in your follow ups with everyone and have a glass of wine to calm your nerves!

Just wanted to update everyone, I am two months away (wooohoo!!!) and I had my planning call in August with Jessica.  She was perfectly prepared and had all of the information I had given in the past.  I've tried to be very organized, so most of what we went over was just her reviewing everything with me and everything she had was correct.  She answered any questions I've had, and has been very helpful with the back and forth with the resort.  Rest assured, if you are organized, everything will work out perfectly with your planning call!  I am very positive that my wedding will be perfect!  The ladies at the resort are on top of their game!
