I inquired about it as my fiancee really wants this location, but was told that to hold my reception there, they would only be able to confirm 2-3 weeks prior to my wedding date, and it would not be guaranteed that I would get this location as it is 1 of 2 ceremony locations. Is anyone else having their wedding at one location and their reception at the Gazebo? It's an odd policy to me. Currently, my ceremony is at the Gabi Bridge and cocktail hour and reception at La Palapa at La Perla.

I had the same problem when I booked my wedding, my 1st choice was the Gazebo but they told me that they would not be able to confirm this location until it got closer to my wedding day in case there was another wedding scheduled then this would be the ceremony site. Fortunatley no one else booked there wedding for the same day as mine and since I kept bugging them about it they confirmed this location for me 8 weeks prior, which wasnt a lot of time to give you a piece of mind but we had my cocktail hour at La Palapa at La Perla and it was vey nice location as well. Not as private feeling as the Gazebo but it was beautiful and the set ups that they can do in there look spectacular. I can send you some pictures if you like, hope this information helps!

Hi- i was actually deciding between the 2 for my 2014 wedding. Can you let me know how your visits went and which one you liked better? That would really help me. Did you have your wedding yet? How did everything go and what resort did you go with? Thanks!

If I were you I'd double check. Do they really mean La Palapa the restaurant? They offered me a "palapa" which is a hut essentially (it's acutally one by the pool on La Perla side that sometimes house the cooking demos or the ping pong tables, there's a few) Don't want you to be disappointed.

Yes you are right, my cocktail hour was not at the Restaurant La Palapa it was under a Palapa by the pool in La Perla which they use for different activies such as ping pong and dance classes. Its an open patio area covered by a hut structure.

Hi Ladies, my question is for brides who were previously married at this resort

1) We had a legal ceremony, paid the $1,000 fee (got our blood work, fingerprints, signed legal documents & married by a judge) and before we left the resort we received our marriage certificate in the room however it was in Spanish and not filled completely. If anyone else had a legal ceremony here I was wondering if you received an English translated marriage certificate in the mail when you returned home or additional paperwork from Mexico? I need a translated English marriage certificate to change my name on my social security card and my drivers license.

2) Also, has anyone taken advantage of the "Unforgettable Gift | Complimentary Honeymoon/Anniversary Nights" promotion that I read about on line http://www.paradisus.com/romance-offers.php  Its based on your wedding invoice (pre-tax and Resorts fees) but was wondering if anyone has taken advantage of it and how easy it is to actually use.

If you know anything about any of these answers your help is much appreciated!

Your weddings pics are stunning. Just wondering how the March April time was in Mexico? Weather-wise and was it busy and more expensive? Thanks!

Hi there! I have lived down here in Playa Del Carmen for almost two years and can answer the weather and flight price questions for you.

One thing to consider for March is Spring Break, as that will make prices of packages in this area more expensive and there will also be lots of families and college kids in town during that time. Everyone's Spring Break dates vary, but most are in March. You can do a Google search to see more specific dates if you'd like.

There's also a religious holiday called Semana Santa from April 13th to the 20th. A lot of Mexican families travel and go on vacation during that time and it is very busy in Playa Del Carmen and the surrounding areas. Prices drop after Semana Santa, so anytime from April 21st to May 31st is usually a better deal and the weather is normally nice. June to October is rainy season and is very hot.

Let me know if you have any other questions about the area, or if I can help you in any way! :)
