Tori, I love your inspiration board!! I too originally wanted calla Lillie's but FI doesn't like so I am still trying to find the perfect flower. Are you making your own bouquet or are you getting them made for you?

I thoroughly reccomend Water Me Not as a real touch florist if you havent already found someone, she is amazing to deal with and I found her prices really reasonable.  I got my bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 5 GM bouts, the groom bouts, 2 little boy bouts, 2 father bouts, and 2 mother corsages, all for 400 (I think it was more around 350).  I havent received them yet, but she sent me a picture of the brides bouquet and the bridesmaids as well, still wiating on the men and mothers..

So I would like to say hello and hopefully join your thread. I am not Canadian, but I have been living in Montreal for the past three months and will live here up until I take off for my wedding next July.

I don't know where to get anything here so thanks Torilynn for starting this thread. At least now I know the names of a few clothing stores.

Hey Celticgirl!

I still need to sort out my flowers for the wedding...the pictures the resort sent me aren't the nicest so I'm considering going elsewhere. Anyway I've been hearing a lot about these real touch flowers.  I haven't quite decided what I'll do yet, but the heat and humidity kind of concerns me. Will real flowers not be able to last throughout the day? Or should I be going the real touch route?

Well I hear alot about flowers wilting and not being able to withstand the heat, but I have also heard the odd bride here and there say they had flowers that were real, and they did last.  It came down to a matter of opinion for me, I could not justify buying flowers from the hotel, they wanted 450 for a bouquet that I really didnt like, so why pay for something that is going to die anyways, and for something you dont really enjoy? I figured these flowers look real, feel real, and they will last a lifetime.  My mom had fake flowers at her wedding, they werent real thouch as it was 25 years ago, but she still has them, and I think that was kind of nice.  I will post a picture so you can see my bouqet and my bridesmaids.

Thanks!!! I am going to make my own bouquets with real touch flowers.  You know I love my DIY projects so I think I will either order online or head to the wholesalers (both Mom and I have our business licenses) and we will pick up my flowers there!  I looked into having them made but I jsut couldn't justify that kind of money on real touch flowers as I could get REAL for the same.

That sounds like a great deal I just can't justify spending that much on flowers that aren't even real! I am hoping to spend 1/2 that (or less) and DIY them... hopefully it works out!

Hello to you and WELCOME!!!!!! You may most definitely join our thread as an honorary Canadian bride!!! Living in Montreal definitely makes you part of the "Canadian Bride" group as you are going through the same challenges we are!!!!! You should also check out the Canadian OOT bag thread for great tips on where to find deals and things for your OOT bags (assuming you are doing them!).

Happy planning :)

So I am in a bit of a conflict at the moment... I got a PM from another bride, and she asked if I would e-mail her one of my templates that were posted on DTW... She also mentioned "I dont have the patience to get to 150 posts", she only has 10... Now, I wouldnt have an issue sharing, but the fact she told me that she was too lazy to contribute when I worked at contributing to forums and worked up to my ability to view attachments, bothers me a little! BUT at the same time, I feel like if I can help someone, why not? Advice??

Celticgirl,

I completely understand how you feel. I've been going through all kinds of emotions trying to get to 150 posts. For a long time, I felt like I would never get there. After contributing and building a rapport on some of the pages, I have learned a little bit better how the site works and really have come to appreciate the process. It's a little bit like joining a sorority.

I would remind her that there is an alternative, she can pay the $30 to become an instant downloadable member.

Just my humble opinion.

I get it too!  I haven't really had the guts to PM someone and ask for their personal templates...but then I am a bit of a rule-follower...I think you guys put your fair share of time and energy into some fabulous creations! : )

Your patience (to reach 150 posts) OR your $30 is so worth it in the end to see/access EVERYTHING that's available...not just a template or two from you.  This forum has provided my FI and I with A LOT of inspiration for our wedding...thanks to you all!

And now, I must drive an hour back to a service station near the lake we stayed at on the weekend...as I left my wallet in the washroom there yesterday morning...ughhhhh...!*%$!  So much for my morning of errands!
