Hey Laurelyn! I am so glad your BYR purchases worked out.  I just got an email from them yesterday that my order was cancelled!  I ordered the one shoulder white cocktail dress.  Kinda of dissappointed after receiving several emails that my order was on track to be shipped.   ooooh well, I guess the hunt continues!

 

PS. Canadian tire has BUBBA MUGS coming up on sale for $5.99 at canadian tire, the 20oz ones!  It starts Sept 10th!  I am soooo torn, its too early to know how many I will need for guests, and FI only wants to get them for the groomsmen and bridesmaids, he doesnt think people will want them....  OH the agonizing decisions!  haha

People will definitely want them!! I was only going to do bridal party as well but figured the others would want them too so i'm biting the bullet, I think our guests will really appreciate them! Thanks for the notification on the sale, definitely going to be checking it out!!!

has anyone purchased them before? if so did you have to pay duty on them when they came across the border?

i purchase from ebay quite a bit and i never had to pay extra duties from the us... never that big of a purchase but i have made large purchases from china and had to pay extra duties when they arrived to canada.

I am not sure if the bride is on this thread but if you check out the "frustrated, where to find mugs in canada" thread there is at least one other bride who had purchased from factory 21 and she has also posted pictures!!!

 

I have heard nothing but great things about them, but if you don't get your answer in this thread definitely check out the other because I remember this being discussed!!!!

Excellent! Glad it turned out well. My BTR orders have been hit and miss... More hit than miss. Which dress did you go with again? I'd love to see it!

I'm also ordering from here. I am just waiting for our final numbers. It seems like they only do orders of 50 or 100, and I think we might be over 50 but its gonna be close! Our deadline for RSVPs is Oct 1.

This is off topic but I'm a little peeved so I wanted to share...

 

We sent out our formal invites in July with a RSVP date of Sept 24 (our deadline for deposits is Oct1 - wanted the week cushion to make sure I could touch base with people who RSVPd yes and who haven't put down a deposit). Our invites our passport invites with a boarding pass postcard RSVP, so I suppose it is a little untraditional, but it is still an RSVP with a stamp, which would make one believe that it needs to be returned!

I was talking with a girlfriend yesterday who I assumed wasn't coming, but I invited her anyway because she would have come if it were at home. She said that she didn't think she had to RSVP to me, she figured if she just didn't book with the TA then it would be obvious that she wasn't coming. At this point, we have only received about 1/3 of our RSVPs in the mail. I know lots of people - including myself - often wait until the last minute to send those bacl, but now I am wondering if people know they are supposed to send them?! My mom said my aunt thought that the postcard was part of the "decoration" of the card. WTF?! There is a stamp for god's sake!

Anyone else experience something like this? I was going to reach out to the people I hadn't heard from after the RSVP date, but now I'm wondering if I should even bother...

Manda...I would get in touch with the ones that didn't RSVP by the date you chose.  I had to do the same with some of my guests because I guess some people don't know they have to RSVP (frustrating I know!).  They were like "oh I didn't think I had to RSVP and that I could just book last minute..." 

 

I had a final date for the group deposit and whoever didn't give their deposit to our TA by that date wouldn't get the group discount and would have to book on their own.  This only happened to one couple.  Luckily everyone else payed their deposit on time and could benefit from the group discount!
