Question ladies, has anyone order chair sashes online?

I wasn't going to do them but FI has wanted them and now my mom also thinks it is a good idea.  I was looking at weddinglinensdirect.com but am not sure what shipping is like to canada.  Any suggestions would be GREAT :)

Also any future brides with Navy as a colour I will have 60+ for sale lol

Hey Tori,

there are always lots for sale in the "for sale" forum, plus I've seen "sash sharing" threads so you should check there as well. Otherwise, don't know about ordering online/shipping. Ebay might be a decent place to check. I think navy might be tough to find? I've seen a lot of fuchsia, orange, turquoise :)

Tori,

I would also check kijiji every few days in the Peterborough area. I did a search for turquoise ones and someone in my area is selling some! If I don't get them from this person, I will likely order from your website suggestion. If you can find some on kijiji, at least you could save the shipping!

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Found a seller on ebay who ships to canada for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

They are out of the orient but I am in no rush to get them so the shipping time is not a big deal!

Does anyone else need chair sashes in a small quantity?  I am thinking of ordering the 100 lot as it is the cheapest option as I need over 50, I am going to email the seller to ask if I can do 2 colours!

Don't worry about shedding a few tears....I have been known to do that from time to time myself. I'll be doing something for the wedding and then all of a sudden think about how my Dad would like it and the next thing I know I need a tissue! haha. It always seems to be the little things that get me the most. Thank you for sharing your ideas....I really like the photo frame and candle idea...I may just have to steal it! :) I'm also doing the small frame in my bouquet....it's comforting to know they will be with us.

I can relate to what you are saying. I get excited about wedding stuff then turn around and shed a few tears...lol...Good thing my Fiance understands, he lost his dad 16 years ago.

So regarding tributes, I thought I would share with you our ideas. I think Tori's friend's idea is very touching. I also had a friend recently get married and she had lost both of her parents. What they did is they had photos in nice frames on a table in front at the ceremony and reception, with a candle lit in front of each(votive). Then when it was time for a toast, they put a glass of champagne by each photo. We are planning on doing the photo idea at our ceremony. I have also seen others put a nice poem in a frame by the photos.

For speeches, I think we are both going to say a word of how his dad and my mom would have loved each of us...more of a funny tribute...with a few tears I am sure. I.e. My mom would have loved him as he is a clean freak like her.....

I am also going to carry a photo of my mom in a small frame tied to my bouquet...so she is with me:)

Anyhow, there are a few ideas. Did your dad like any funny or crazy songs? If you are comfortable playing one, you could all get up and dance like crazy in honour of him!!

I hope my description makes sense and gives it justice, it was such a nice idea!

So, that being said I love your idea of having a "tribute" to your dad and think you plan is the perfect way to do it!

Hi there Canadian brides!

If you guys have any Canadian bride travel questions, feel free to post them and we'll do our best to reply. Most of the travel talk on the forum is about US departures and their travel industry works completely different then ours.

Obviously your TA is the best person to ask because every wedding is unique and has different restrictions and rules, but for those of you who braved it on your own or just need some friendly advice, my team at Blue Petal Weddings is more then happy to give that to you. It can be very overwhelming at times, even for a TA!

Happy planning cheers.gif
