@@kmk2016 and @@TinkerSofi     It's called Sew Nice in Calgary - I don't have the number, but I googled it and she is on there. She is in Somerset.    My coworker had it hemmed, had a bussel attached, a ribbon changed, and a repair for $120!!!!

RW & CO had men's dress shirts on for $30, then 50% off, so $15.  Great price.

Does the corset back help with sizing at all? I don't know if I want one, but if my only area of 'snuggness' is right under my boobs, maybe a corset is cheaper than taking it out and doing all the extra bead work.   I think I am ok, just panicking!!!!  the dress is the big part, and with all that swelling I do in humidity I have myself in a worry.

ohh I know where that is! It's like a block away from my fiance's house haha.

I'm doing a corset back because my dress doesn't quite zip up all the way up (unless i plan on not breathing for 8 hours). I think it's definitely an easier fix than taking it out and all that. I wasn't going to buy the dress until the lady at the store told me that it was an easy fix. I also love corset backs and they're a bit more forgiving of weight changes

I would assume it's got to be somewhere around the passport office?  That's a bad guess, but who knows.  Glad you know where it is. She is happy with them.

Did they think it was easier to go corset then order the size up and basically alter it back down to the smaller size?  That was my feelings, I mean I can breath, but I can also tell the dress is on LOL!!!!  Maybe when I go in for my first fitting in November, if this is still worrisome for me then I will ask about a corset.  It will be interesting how it would work with all the beading on my dress but could be done forsure.

I'm not sure what would be easier, I think it's always easier to make smaller than bigger. I bought a sample dress and it was the last one so I didn't have much of a choice. The dress fit perfectly except for the top 4 inches that is too hard to close with the zipper, well and the hips part because of my huge ass haha.

If you go south macleod and turn right on 162 ave, keep going until you see a mac's on your left. The alterations place is right beside the mac's.

I had a corset back on my wedding in my first marriage and it definitely helped in giving you a perfect fit. But I'm determined to NOT do anything similar to last time... Right down to the corset back so I'm thrilled you recommended a good seamstress cause I will likely need one to get the fit perfect.

Thanks for the idea, will keep it in mind.  It is very pretty!  But I don't want to pay a fortune for it :)  Other than hemming, this dress doesn't need anything... so hope to keep it that way.  I plan to try it on alot to stretch it out myself LOL!!!

We all have lovely shapes, unfortunately they don't fit cookie cutter things :)

Haha sounds like we have similar shapes! I bought a sample too, and it fits almost perfectly but needs to be hemmed. I also need to lose about 5-10 lbs because it's a bit too tight now, but I figured that'd be realistic. I wouldn't call myself large at all, but SOO many of the samples I tried on I couldn't even get over my butt/thighs/hips because I'm disproportionately huge down there for my size haha

Ah, I need to get on to figuring out what the groomsen will wear, esp. before summer is out. We're not going for a beachy theme, and my FI prefers to have it more formal. He bought a nice light grey suit from Harry's (good excuse for him - it cost more than my dress!). I think I want the groomsmen in darker grey pants and just a white shirt with suspenders and bow ties, and my Fi in a full suit and tie. Our wedding is in December so it shouldn't be too hot

Do any of you think the ivory vs. white thing is an issue? My dress is kind of a soft white/ivory, and I've read it can look dingy if next to bright white. Wondering if i should get my FI and groomsmen ivory shirts instead of white

Same here! Most of the gowns were actually big on me except of course the one that I ended up buying haha. I fits perfectly around the waist and the bust, it even makes my boobs look bigger, yay! haha.

My fiance definitely wants to go more for formal and I like it more too. I think he'll probably wear a bow tie and same with my brother. I was thinking with going with shirts that are at least off-white or ivory even. My dress is also a light ivory and I feel that it would look yellow when put against white.

wow I didn't even think about that. My fiancé is wanting to wear grey too and he figured a white shirt with it but I have an ivory dress also. Good tips girls I may have to sway here to go off white or something. What will that look like against the grey though?

I think it would look fine. I find off white looks kind of yellow only when put against white but otherwise you can't really tell the difference
