Hey @@candle23

I am wondering the same thing. I bought my dress at The Bridal House in Edmonton and I am waiting for my dress to arrive hopefully late Sept they said. So I am going to see what they quote me for alterations and if it's too much then I will probably shop around. Thing is I don't know of any in Edmonton and not from there. So to google that information will just be like taking a chance and hoping for the best.

If you find out anything let me know :)

I'm wondering where you guys are getting the groom attire? My fiance is set on wearing a suit and even though he bought a gorgeous charcoal suit, it's wool, so I don't think it will be very caribbean friendly in the middle of August. I'm looking for a linen suit but I can't find them anywhere in Calgary (we even looked last year and nothing, everything is wool). I even thought of going to a tailor and getting it made for him but that's probably going to cost as much if not more than my dress. I also saw suits in suitopia.com and indochino but I don't know if I dare to order online. What is everyone else doing?

Another bride passed on the fabric samples for studiosuits.com and we plan on ordering from them. If you want I can lend it to you? The quality is really good and reviews are great!

My FI bought linen suits at Mexx last summer for a pretty good price... Not sure if they have them this year

We ordered white linen shirts and beige linen pants from islandimporter.com. They are really nice, but the sizing is a little weird. We ordered 7 pairs of pants and 4 of them fit perfect, the other 3 we have to exchange.

Thanks @@candle23 @@Meandhim @@kmk2016 I'll look into islandimporter and Mexx. The fiance saw the suits at studiosuits and he told me that he likes the ones from suitopia more. I'll probably order sample fabric from suitopia and compare them to studiosuits anyway so I'll probably borrow those sometime ;).

I checked how much I'd be looking at if getting it done by a tailor here and apparently it's anywhere from $1000 and up, more around 2k or 3k. I want him to look good but that's a bit much. I feel super guilty saying "he'll only wear it once" because so will I with my dress but yet I paid almost $900 for it . Chances are he will wear it more times than I'll wear my dress.

My FI has to wear a suit to work everyday so when he buys his wedding suit he has a pretty good budget (way more than my dresses) because he'll being getting way more use out of it, but still 2-3k is way too much!

He doesn't like wearing suits and only wears them for special occasions (too bad because he looks so good in them). He's a civil engineer and so he can't really wear them to go to construction zones. He's also a pretty small guy so I'm hoping that we'll be able to find something at Mexx. If not, we'll have to bite the bullet and order online and hope for the best. Even if we have to pay for alterations afterwards it will still be cheaper than getting one made here.

What kind of suit are you looking for? I found that le chateau had some nice beachy attire. We would have probably bought from there except that my FI is 6'3" and 230lbs so basically nothing fits him there! Same with a lot of all the clothing stores like Banana Republic, Mexx etc....
