I ended up wearing fake lashes for the first time ever in my life and they were perfect, I put waterproof mascara over them (one I borrowed from a friend called Lash Stiletto or something, it was great) and my eyelashes were perfect! I even woke up the day after the wedding and my eyelashes were still on, I re-did my mascara and fixed my foundation and went off to do a underwater TTD in a cenote and my lashes still pulled through!

They did a great job on your makeup!! I love it! I'm so scared to get my makeup done at the spa at my resort. So many mixed reviews. :/

I had lash extensions once a few years ago, and I hated them!! They were so itchy and uncomfortable... within a couple days I was pulling them off. Definitely falsies for me!

Thanks for that, now I'm 100% sure I won't do extensions ! falsies it is !

I've been debating that, and I've been asking around for make-up artirst in the area of the resort. One of the make-up artists includes falsies, so I'm not even going to bother with anything else and just go with whatever she has to offer.

 

Fireynurse, your make up was GORGEOUS! you looked fantastic!

That's good to know! Ya I'm not sure how they'd hold up. I picture them getting all tangled like spider legs lol. I suck at using fake eyelashes so I guess I should start practicing !

Hey ladies I work at a salon/spa and false eyelash extensions are not a good idea for a beach vacation as they advise us ladies when we get them to keep them as dry as possible so they look better and last longer. And I tried them once and they drive me crazy.

Our resort spa had various reviews, some good and some bad, I decided to give it a go figuring "how bad could it be" LOL! I know, what a day to roll the dice on...my wedding day! I have seen people's pics, and even in the ones that weren't so happy with their makeup, it always looked amazing, in my opinion. I think people who like very very subtle makeup and then have something more dramatic done for their wedding are not usually as happy. Remember too, it needs to stay for a long long time in very hot and humid weather and if it doesn't and it runs or whatever it will likely show in your professional pics. I figured the ladies at the spa would know about how to get makeup applied right so it doesn't run or melt or anything like that!
