I tried making my own flower centerpieces like the ones I posted here: 467097

I'm not in love with them, but I think i'll keep working on it. haven't found the right vase yet, but I kind of like the idea of just putting it in a cup like in my last picture. plus it would save me from having to carry down vases [although the first vase is plastic and extremely light].

If I do a glass then the centerpieces come to about 25 cents each lol. Do they look that cheap?

400

700

I personnaly prefer the look of the second (the glass). Simple and cute !

Each couple (or maybe person...) will get a bag (vistaprint), bubba keg, digital video camera, welcome information packet (which includes activity pages and is going to be placed in those small photo albums from the dollar store, so they can use the albums for pictures after), mini survival kit (SPF lip balm, aloe, conditioner maybe [since I do not think the resort has any in the bathrooms], etc.) and vistaprint items: keychain, pen, hat, notepad.

I really do not think that we will do favours other than that. We are having bubbles at the wedding that guests can keep, and just paper fan programs, also the place cards are personalized shells, which people can keep of course.

We have a small group coming (about 15 we think) so I wanted to be generous. But I am still on a budget!

Wow! Digital video camera? THAT alone sounds really generous already.. I'm not sure how many people are coming still.. since its a year away. So I cant decide what to put in the OOT bags yet. Sigh. I wish I could get more done...

Yeah, they were on a clearance sale. Just small ones, but we thought they would be good for travelling.

We had a long engagement....2 full years.... and we just picked things up here and there along the way. It seemed to work out well so far!

We are also just doing OOT bags. Like other have commented, I don't think our guests will expect an OOT bag and I personally think it's better than a favor. For budget reasons we can't afford to do favors as well. Since our wedding is off resort, costs are higher than we originally expected. In our OOT bags we are including insulated mugs, a beach bag, an "oh sh!t kit", badge/key holders, and a Welcome Book like Peache's (We were able to score the photo albums for 50cents I think from Superstore awhile back!). I originally wanted to do underwater cameras, but we bought extra stuff, so we spent more than expected.

Peach, Have you started your Welcome Books? I have mine almost all printed, but thinking about adding a few extra pages as there are still blank pages

Yes I sure have. We are including some information pages, a meet the guests section, and the rest are activity pages I think.

My wedding date is November 12, 2013 and I started to get quotes around the beginning of November. My resort is pretty big in size, so I could've waited a little longer to book, since I don't really have to worry about the resort running out of rooms. However, my TA found me a really great quote of $1100/pp for Mayan Riviera, so I couldn't turn it down. So I think it will really depend on the location you were considering for the wedding.

TIA

I received quotes over a year early, and chose a resort based on that. Then I needed new quotes for the year I wanted to go, and then new quotes again when the old ones expired (3 or so weeks after I got them).

I would send out Save the Dates pretty early, let them know the week (give or take a week), and the price (we said MAX $2000, and it came in at $1800). This gives people a long time to think about it and save up. Then when it comes time to put deposits down they can act fast.

I think you're pretty safe to act earlier leaving from Toronto since its such a high-flight center. I Was hesitant to put down money too early since there was a possibility of cancelling flights or moving them to different days out of Alberta. And that happened anyways, so now we are going through Toronto.

Congrats and good luck!
