Thanks for posting the groupon. I've only compared prices with the bridal salon where I bought my dress. The bridal salon could do it themselves for $250 + tax or they could refer me and I could take it in myself and pay $350 + tax. So, I purchased the groupon for cleaning and preservation-$189. I will let you all know how it turns out on my first dress. Has anyone lse used it???

Thanks again!

No problem MrsDesz! Crazy how expensive the prices are huh?

I've just priced out a few other dry cleaners in central Toronto and most charge $250+ for cleaning. Only one was cheaper, and considerably so: $120 @ King West Village Cleaners (or $220 for cleaning and preservation) and when I checked them out on Yelp, the reviews were mixed, although the one or two who had a wedding gown cleaned were quite pleased. I need to get my dress cleaned twice (I bought a sample so it's bit grungy) so think I'll try out this groupon for one of my cleanings.

For the brides to be who haven't booked yet, here's a promotion from Air Canada that I came across but isn't advertised anywhere.  I just checked with them and it's valid. http://www.aircanadavacations.com/media/PDF/6646_Groups%20Terms%20&%20Conditions_EN_HR.pdf

Well.. not really a promotion but little things that make the organisation a little easier!

Have any Canadian (or Vancouver) brides found a good place to buy veils? I tried one on at Blush (local store) and it is simple 1 layer hand cut edge that comes to below the bum. It is $125. That seems steep for something so..... simple. Does anyone know anywhere or anyone (good etsy?) that can do that for cheaper? Thanks brides :) Here is a pic of the veil I liked/tried on.

Oh I tried on dresses there! They were all expensive and amazing haha.

I ended up buying a less expensive dress in Edmonton, but my veil was still $125. It is a side veil with a flower and swarowski crystals (no idea how to spell that).

I saw some very cheap veils in Davids Bridal... maybe check out some places like that.. more chain stores than boutique places..?

Yah they were pricey. Luckily I got my dress on a sample sale!! I asked if their veils ever went on sale and she said no. Is there really a difference between high end veils and cheaper David's ones - if there aren't any crystals or detail? Yours seems to have way more detail for the same price.

I know of two different options for inexpensive veils

Venus Veils on ebay - several girls on this site have purchased from here

http://www.ebay.ca/sch/venus_veils/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

Bella Bridal Veils on etsy - got the shop name from someone on here but don't know if anyone has actually ordered one from this shop

http://www.etsy.com/shop/BellaBridalVeils?ref=seller_info

I would say to do a quick search of BDW for any feedback or reviews but prices sure seem reasonable (under $50 usually)!

Oh that's a good call. The lady from the store also sent me the length that I would have ordered so at least that will help with my search. If I get stuck, I may have to just bite the bullet and pay $125 but at least I looked. Amazing how bridal budgets get out of control so quickly :P

It is 60" long

simple 1 layer hand cut edge.

And yours is beautiful!!!!
