I had my teetj whitened, with laser treatment over the summer..... pretty painful ... leave you with sensitive teeth .. and the difference wasn't amazing.....I had a facial appointment yesterday and I cancelled it, my wedding being 1 week away ... I was too scared to have lasting effects that weren't too pretty.. I should have scheduled it a long time ago I guess, but have been too busy. Today was eyebrow threading, and the girl nipped me with her scissors right about the eyebrow.. nice....grrrr

All this talk about rings has me curious....

We are on a very tight budget, and I told FI before he proposed that I did not want an expensive ring. Anyway, I LOVE my ring... It is simple and sweet and very me. I believe it is white gold, or maybe has a white gold coating? Anyway, the colour has started to change, and I was wondering if that treatment you guys were talking about would work to help with that? It is getting pretty dark on part of the band where my other fingers hit it. I would like it fixed, but it is not a big deal. When FI saw that he got a little upset, but I love my ring even with the discoloration! :)

Anyway, wondering if that will help. What do you think?

About white gold:

There is not such thing as white gold all gold is yellow. When they make "white gold", they use actually yellow gold and silver color alloys, such as silver, platinum and many other to  make it took white. When ring is made it still looks yellow and to make it look white, they dip it in rhodium, rhodium comes of in 6 month - 1 year, depends how you wear your ring and what you do with your hands. To get it back to white  as it used to be, just take it to jeweller and have it rhodium plated. It usually cost 40-50$. Also if you bought your ring from big chains, such as mappins, people's, ben moss, charms and so on, you might have purchased additional warranty for you ring. If you did, this warranty would cover your rhodium plating cost.

Awesome information! No, the ring was not purchased from a big chain; I know there is nothing covering it. I have been wearing it for almost 6 months, and I do know it is not very high quality, so that makes sense. I also (almost) never take it off.

I will definitely try taking it in. Thank you!

I am glad I could help,

Also about big and expensive rings, I saw 20K e-rings being returned, so really, it is thought that counts!

So it was actually $1000 for both, or did you mean $1000 per ring? My budget is about $1800 so if I can can too for that price that would be great! Oh and I'm looking for white gold not platinum, so that will save me some.

Hey Shelly - Have you ever used crest white strips? I have used them a few times, they only take 2 weeks to do and honestly I notice a HUGE difference. I plan to do this before my wedding, and they only cost about $45 compared to the $200-300 it can cost for your dentist to do!
