We are using our postcards as a guest book. We will put postage on them but as the instructions say below, don't mail them till you're back home!

We will also have postcards for our AHR guest book, they will just be slightly different (not designed yet).

I just realized that the clamp base of the umbrellas from London Drugs twists off, leaving just a handle.  They might make for some fun photo opps...

These umbrellas we'll be getting creative with...they open up just like a regular umbrella, but they have an adjustable clamp base.  Maybe along the deck rail...???  You could probably just cut or break the clamp off...they were $2.99 each on sale and came in turquoise, yellow and red.

Finally, at the suggestion of a bride a little bit ago, I went back to Superstore to pick up these fabric-covered CD/DVD cases that we'll give to our parents with a copy of our wedding DVD with a photo in the cover.  They are now on sale for $1.44 and also came in a royal blue colour at some point.

Just wondering if anyone has ever seen or ordered personalized/monogramed necklaces from this place?

http://monogramonline.com/sterlingsilver.html

Today's Dealfind special is $29 for a personalized sterling silver script name necklace that retails for $70.

I'm curious...

Hi Ladies,

So I think I am going to ban myself from shopping for a bit! I went to a swim shop to try on bikinis and found the cutest 7 in one dress that is the perfect bridesmaid dress!! Only problem, we bought our bridesmaid dresses in a different color...boo...so now I am going to get the girls to try it on then try and see if we can still return them. Cross your fingers...if not I guess we will have to keep the dresses but I will likely keep the dress for me for Mexico!

So I decided to post a photo of the ribbon I found in the 1$ bin at Michaels. I saw the eat, drink be married on another bride's thread and loved it. FIY if any of you ladies are having brown or pink or purple as your wedding colors, there was other ribbon in the bin with nice sayings like We just tied the knot...Celebrate... Worth checking it out!

I also included Christmas decorations...yes...that is right from Michaels but I am planning on using them to make a centerpiece in a vase with sand and sea shells. They had a lot of different colors. I will post a photo of my end result when I am done.

There done for today!:)

Be prepared to go through all of the ribbon in the bin! it took me over five mins to find 7 reels of the ribbon...lol...pretty sure I got it all!

If I don't need all of them, I could sell it to a lucky bride!

One tip to help you...the ribbon with writing on it has yellow cardboard...so sift through all of the reels of ribbon and look for the yellow ones...The pink writing isn't Eat drink and be married but still cute! Good luck! Let me know how you make out!

You're telling me!!!  I started at the $1 bin, shuffled some spools around...didn't see anything.  Asked the clerk...she pointed me into the ribbon aisle which I knew likely wasn't right.  So I went back to the $1 bin and EUREKA!  I found one spool like yours, then I would have been at it for a few minutes before I found a cream ribbon in that series that said "Perfect Pair"...they had a few of those.  The one I loved, which I could only find one of, was the chocolate brown ribbon with the sparkly pink "We tied the knot!" printing.  Yes, anyone going to look for this ribbon, take note of the yellow cardboard spool...that will help you with your digging.

Also, if anyone is still looking for toys for kids, Michaels continues to reduce their summer/pool toys.  The splash catchers were .90 and the 3-D bubble set (when you wear the glasses, 3D hearts magically appear on the bubbles you blow) were less than $3 and the little activity books were .45 and .90.

Hello Fellow Canadians!

I've been reading through this thread, and have found some great tips already, thanks! I'm in the middle of planning our wedding at Ocean Coral and Turquesa in the Myan Riveria on March 22, 2012. I'm wondering if anyone has come across any good places in Canada to buy starfish? I've looked at Michael's, they do have a bag of various sized starfish, however I'm looking for bigger ones to use to decorate the huppa/arch on the beach with. Or, have you found any good online sites to order starfish from?

Thanks for any input you may have!

Glad you found one spool...There were five or six of that exact kind at my Michaels in Edmonton. Coming to Edmonton soon?

Hi Away We Go,

Congratulations and Welcome!

I was at Michaels today and I too want star fish, I planned on searching online tonight for a canadian site....I will let you know what I find. If you find anything, do you mind sharing too?

Thanks and happy planning! This thread and the ladies on here are amazing and unfortunately making me spend more money than I should be spending!
