cancun palace advice?

Ok Ladies... Ill tell you what I know so far.  I'm getting married there May 4th. so I feel your pain with all these unanswered questions.

As far as the outside vendors, you can bring them in, but they will have to have the daily pass.  I'm not sure how that works out exactly.  I know some other girls have had their flowers brought in by a florist that is from Cancun and since they just needed to be dropped off, they didn't have to get the day pas.  If you chose your own photographer, like I have, you will have to get them a day pass as well.  My photographer is Juan Navarro.  I personally was not impressed with the smile market photographers.  I'm also getting my make up done by and outside vendor and someone told me to get them just a kids pass since they wont be there all day, they will only be there to do my hair and make up and then leave.

I just found out that you can bring your own linens and centerpieces etc.  Please remember when booking the packages for the ceremony, that you realize that is all you get.  Its for the ceremony ONLY.  None of the decorations or chair bows or anything will carry over to the dinner or cocktail hour.  Since I found that out, I decided to just do the complementary package and add to that.  Plus if you bring your own linens and such i can guarantee that it will be cheaper than getting a package.  they will charge you a small set up fee when you bring your own items, but its reasonable.

If you don't want to bring your own stuff, they do have someone that will bring everything in for you.  I think its called Zuniga or something like that.  however.... i was getting charged over $900 for the linens and chair bows.  and I'm talking for only 40 people.  Its really hard when you cant really talk to anyone until 3 months previous, but i have done a TON of research, i have been in touch with someone from the resort and this sight has been such a help!

Hope that helped at least a little bit.

Let me know if you have any other questions i might be able to answer.  When i get back I'm going to do a full review with pics and everything!

CANT WAIT!

Thanks for ur help :)ur im all about saving money, i guess my question is....how many suitcases did u take down there?? I honestly feel like, between the bridal boutquettes, groomsmen crosages, bridal party/parent gifts, all the OOT items and bags, not to mention my personal stuff, where do i have room for table linens and center pieces for the reception???? Is it cheaper to pay the baggage fees to take items needed vs purchasing them through the resort. also, i cannot find any prices/packages for decorations on deco cancun website.....any suggestions on above questions?????

Well I havenâ€t gone yet.  I get married there in May... SO... What Iâ€m personally doing is sending people with stuff.  Each of my girls are going to take their bouquets, and I will probably give a few things to each person to take with them so that I donâ€t have to take it all.  I have 8 sets of 3 for centerpieces, so Iâ€m going to have my in-laws take some and my sister in law etc.  The chair bows donâ€t take up too much space and Iâ€m only buying runners for the tables, so that wonâ€t take too much space either.  ( after I found out how much linens were going to be from the resort I changed a few things)   As far as how many tables you will need.  They either do round tables that fit 8 or square tables that fit 10.  Iâ€m going to have about 40 people there so technically I only need 5 or 6 centerpieces but i got 8 so that I had room to play with them.  maybe decorate the cake table or what if one breaks or whatever.  So I played it safe.  I am also going to order probably 8 table runners as well.  Again just to be on the safe side.

I do think it would be cheaper to pay for extra baggage than to spend the money at the resort.  The prices there are CRAZY!  This is just my personal opinion though.

If you want to look at linens I suggest http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com/

As far as the website is concerned for deco cancun... I know!  I feel you there.  Its not a very good site to get info off of and there are no prices.  I will give you this girls email address who helped me out.  [email protected]. She was able to send me some info and give me an estimate on how much my stuff would cost me.   I was not THAT impressed with the items that she sent me, but after doing much research I feel better knowing that if you are able to tell her and show her with pictures what you want, they most likely can do it for you.

Hopefully this helped a little!  Let me know if you need anythign else!

Hi Kristin,

Feel free to email me at [email protected] and I can answer any questions you may have since I don't get notified that often anymore of any posts to me since I already had my wedding.  Yesenia Diaz was my sales coordinator in Miami and Cynthia was my planner  at the Cancun Palace.  Don't know how they pulled it off, but they made my dream come true down there!!! I'll give you the real scoop when you email me with your questions!!!

Talk soon,

Jen
