I would just look through all of the reviews on here (some have pics), as well as on TripAdvisor.  If people have a bad experience, they're usually very vocal about reviewing the property.

Getting married Jan/Feb 2013, haven't confirmed a date or resort yet. Trying to decide between Now Larimar and Grand Palladium (PC/Bavaro/Palace). Last week of Jan/First week of Feb. I am leaning towards GP because of the quotes and amenities (casino, kids areas, etc) but have noticed not many people are talking about that resort. I don't know if that's good or bad?

We stayed at Palladium Punta Cana twice and loved it-- just decided we wanted a smaller resort for our wedding. The beach was by far our favorite of the resorts we stayed at in Punta Cana so far.

I don't have much wedding info but I'm pretty sure there's a palladium addict website out there that has a whole wedding section if you google it.

My fiance and I chose Dreams Palm Beach and Jellyfish for our February 20, 2013 wedding.  Things are very much still up in the air in terms of planning.

- Have yet to secure a finalized, agreed upon group rate with our travel agent

- Have yet to officially confirm our reception at Jellyfish (although Mayte has assured me that she has blocked off the date for us)

- Initially we wanted to have our ceremony and cocktail party at Dreams PB, but may just do the ceremony there

- Have yet to put deposit down with our photographer

I would love to just be able to send out our invitations already to give our guests enough time to save up, book the time of work, etc. but all of these things need to fall into place first.

Thanks Kristina, that makes me feel a lot better!! I have looked on TripAdvisor obviously and being a statistician, I calculated the amount of 4 and 5 star reviews versus the total amount of reviews, and the Palladium ranked as one of the highest at 77% very good or above rating! Which sounds lovely to me... so hopefully it lives up to its expectations. Is it really super huge?? Say, compared to Majestic Colonial (the only other resort I have been to)?

There is indeed a Palladium Addict site, with a whole section for weddings.

I've only ever been to the Palladium Vallarta, but that was lovely too!

It's big. That's for sure. And alot of the buildings look the same. My boyfriend made fun of me because I would still turn in the wrong direction even by the last day of our second trip LOL.

I've never been to majestic so it's hard to compare but picture it as almost 4 resorts in one. There's the punta cana section, palace section, bavaro section, and then the royal suites. You can access all except the royal suites unless you are a guest there specifically.

But there's pros to that too.. there's always a change of scenery.. like one day we didn't like the feel/crowd at one pool so we just walked over to another section's pool. I would go back in a second but I figured with a large wedding group I sort of wanted a place where people will just "run into eachother" often.. ie one lobby at night or something. At the same time, a larger resort would be good to not have to feel obligated to be together allll the time. But it is a beautiful resort.

Check out the other site for sure because there's tons of info on there.

Hi ladies! I am planning on getting married in October 2013 at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana (I know its a very long ways away) but i was just wondering if anyone knew if we purchased the ultimate wedding package but did not want the cocktail hour, photographer, musical trio, etc, would that cut the total cost of the package?? I tried emailing the resort but just got package prices, no definite answer! thanks! CONGRATS GIRLS!

I totally chose Ocean Blue for this reason too (among others). My TA warned me against the Gran Bahia Punta Cana and a couple of others because they were sooooo big. I imagine for some groups - that might be a good thing if they all don't want to spend a ton of time together. For my family, it's very much a reunion as well, since we all live across the country - so it will be nice to be at a smaller resort where we can spend lots of time together.

Hi Ladies, Congratulations :cheer2: !!!!!!!!!! Iâ€m so excited to find this thread!!!!!!!! My Big Day is 7-30-13 at Dreams Punta Cana. So far we have reserved our date, ceremony, and reception location; I still do not have any package prices. I made save-the-dates on vista print one day just playing around but now I think I want boarding passes. This is the problem planning so far in advance the more I look the more I like. Again Congratulations and Iâ€ll be talking with you all. Skyy
